Looks good, although I'm not sure I'll be willing to pay the $80-90 they'll be asking for him.

At that size he might work for Classics as well.

Although .... paying so much for Seaspray may not be worth it to me.

I'm of two minds on what a good "Classics" Seaspray should be. On the one hand, he's traditionally been a small robot, but that's because the original version was a Micro-Change toy, which was tiny robots that became small household items like miniature toy cars. One could argue that, in the original cartoon, the repair-bot's scan of a hovercraft for Seaspray didn't take into account the size discrepancy, and that an updated "Classics" version would either give the character a bigger body or a different, smaller vehicle to transform into.

It's the same situation with Powerglide. I like the Voyager figures they made for both of them, but I'm not against owning smaller, more screen-accurate-sized versions (like CW Powerglide).

Personally I like to handwave scale issues with vehicles by just saying they're all Cybertronian forms where that is far less of an issue.

Oh sure, it's a Cybertronian vehicle that happens to look exactly like an Earth hovercraft... but I can pretend!

In my mind TFs are deluxe sized by default. It's almost totally just to my own view on things, but this is how I think on it:

- I hate different size classes of cars, like Legends and Deluxe in my collection. All should be deluxe.

- Ideally my Seekers would be voyager, but there just isn't a voyager sized team I like. Plus I got 30 classics Seeker guys. So aeroplanes are also deluxe size. This includes the areialbots and Powerglide.

- Trucks should be voyagers. Clssics Prime is still my benchmark for voyager size.

- Wheelie is the only bot I want at a small size. Other TFs? Case by case basis. But I don't want the Insecticons, Reflector, or the Sharkticons to be Legends size. So I'm sticking with 3rd party for those guys. The MP Reflectors and Insecticons all seem too large, so right now I have the FP's Insecticons and Photron filling those posts.

All that is pretty arbitrary. Ultimately I just want everyone to look "right" next to each other and that's roughly my guide.

Right now I have iGear's old "minibots", Boost, the CW KO of Powerglide, Huff, Classics BB and Universe Warpath all playing nice. I have HftD Seaspray, but he doesn't really fit with the others. Which is why this Seaspray is looking good to me. I think it'll look nice with the other "Minibots" I have as my main guys. But we'll see. FT's take on Reflector was too large for me, so I may be outta luck on this too.

My 3P supplier (tfs-express) posted a stock update on FB, stating that this figure will be released next week.

No thanks. More like a really stylized seaspray

I saw a comparison pic of all the Seasprays somewhere... I don't remember but I think this was my favorite one. And this is one of those characters I'd hope wasn't slavishly cartoon accurate, as his toon model looks pretty fat and dumpy 8-}
