Takasa Tony and other Masterpiece KO's. What's the story?

People are obviously concerned with price and quality of these KO's.

I don't care for them and I only ever buy original toys.

I wonder though why nobody's trying to find out exactly what the hell is Takasa Tony.

Some say they are official Takara products rejects but Takara releases some toys that are even worse than Takasa sometimes.

Does anyone know what's the story behind these things?

I'd like to say they annoy the hell out of me because I go out of my way to buy original stuff and it's a travesty of Takara knows and endorsers Takasa toys. The video comparisons on the internet shows that even the Tomy(R) sign is found on the Takasa toys.

Anyone?

I found this discussion from last year about it:
takasa-tony--t106338.php

Beyond that, It's the first I'd hear of these knockoffs, but I highly doubt Takara would be endorsing them in any way shape or form.

I've read that thread too.

It's only about their quality like every other thread that mentions Takasa Tony on the internet.

I'm surprised no one says anything about whats the deal with them. I was hoping to find at least some solid info about these guys.

Someone posted this today in a Facebook forum and everyone seems to agree as if it was some sort of untold gospel (because I've never seen told anywhere):

"Takasa Tony are not KO's. They are original items, but factory rejects, ie: products that did not meet QC standards for any reason, however silly, like a bad plastic mold, a chipped paint scheme or maybe a toy with two left feeft, missing screw etc."

That really really gets under my skin.

Yup. Those are fakes. KOs etc. Not passing judgement on them because I also purchased a KO G1 Devs before Takara re-issued him officially.

But in your face lying that they are factory "rejects" are really pushing it. Just admit they are fake and be done with it! They might be good for spare prts if your original got damaged (I'm thinking of getting the MP IH because my genuine IH chrome is like all but corroded. Yup! The original's chrome is like slag!

kos are not factory rejects.they are reproduced and most of the time they have some improvements
you can get the datsuns lancias and corvettes with rubber tires.
its good for me because i can buy them since im pretty much done with takara and their price gauging.
the thing that sent me over the edge is the fact that my mp shockwave is a factory reject and the fact that takara actually packaged them instead of scrapping them.
ill still buy hasbro stuff but no more from takara
ive had both of ironhides thumbs break and his chrome is rusted.

Yup. What I said. Those aren't "rejects". Though as much as I love rubber on rim s, weather in the tropics tend to melt the stuff faster so I prefer plastic tires on my MPs. MP-10 first release on my version in the shins are now ruined. :(
