I don't get it.... aren't they a retailer? Why attack the retailer? Shouldn't you go after the 3P companies themselves?

Chinese companies are basically above US law. Any attempt to shut them down would be completely fruitless, and even if they were shut down they'd just change the sign outside their office and come back as a "new" company. The only leverage HasTak has against them at this point is attacking retailers, which is pretty scummy IMO (regardless of your thoughts on 3P stuff).

TLDR: Corporation attempts to stamp out competition, makes everyone miserable in the process. Business as usual.

OK, update time. From what I've heard this is only applying to WeiJiang KOs that Kapow was selling, and not actual original molds. We should be OK, for now at least.

I think that's harsh. It's totally within their right to protect their own property, and if they can't attack the companies themselves then it seems it's the next logical step. And they're lucky they're only going after the straight KO's.

I suppose my biggest beef with the whole "They're within their rights to take them down" thing is that it relies entirely on US IP law, AKA an absolute slagshow of a legal snarl that has been perverted and warped far from its original meaning by Disney's lobbyists so they can keep their original cartoons (and by extension their characters) from ever entering the public domain. Quite frankly, I have zero respect for IP laws as they currently stand. Plus there's the issue of 3P sales being so small in comparison to official stuff that the "lost profits" argument goes out the window. And THEN there's the blatant theft HasTak has committed over the years with designs, vehicle modes, the bodies for 3" and 12" G.I. Joes etc...

So this may actually be about Fans Toys and their Hot Rod/Arcee? Anyone know anything further?
