Third Party Bayformers The Best Discussion Thread

Ello all! It's a mighty great day to discuss Transformers Movie Bots, This thread is sorta my wishful attempt to get all the best 3rd Party Movie Series KOs, original creations, and Modified Oversized KOs (like Wei Jiang) into one coherent thread about the "BEST" bots/alt modes as a guide to buy if you want a Third Party Movie Transformer.

Now, to start...

I am going to select my first choice for a Bayformer 3rd Party Purchase. If you like the Movies, which I have now become a fan of them, and you are collecting the MPM Masterpiece Movie Line from Takara Tomy and Hasbro, then you will love this guy. In the 4th Transformers Film we were introduced to the minion and bounty hunter of Quintessa known as Lock Down! Well my fellow Transformers fans, I am here to say, that for me, the best version thus far produced by any Third party is definitely Unique Toys R01 Peru Kill Third Party Lockdown!

If you want a figure that combines simplistic Transformation, coupled with Masterpiece Level Detail and a likeness that is pretty well dead on, then look at these images below spliced with images of the Sideshow collectables statue, and the CGI model from the movies..It's uncanny how well this figure turned out!

Now, they did a great job capturing that weathered and gruff face, the face of a bounty Hunter. It's a pretty good likeness..

The Head sculpts are amazing, and remember when Lockdown pulled a BFG from his head? Yea, this bot covers that pretty well too!

Just Look at that Superb Detailing! Great Job! makes me feel like each cut is a separate piece of metal! sculpting is top notch!

Here is the Bot in Vehicle mode! Great job! The side mirrors do detach and reattach in transformation, but other then that, a great figure!

if you want an amazingly Masterpiece level AOE Lockdown, then there is no other choice IMHO, then to go with Unique Toys R01 Peru Kill.

I'm not a fan of the dogs he will come with tho. I think that a better figure of the dogs is possible, and I would love to see another 3RD Party take on the dogs, and make them Movie Accurate.

if you are now seeking Third Party Masterpiece Level Transformers, then I highly recommend this Thread! I will probably do another soon, as I am currently researching more Third Party Bayformers to mention, as I think with Takara Tomy and their Movie the best series of Toys, why not pick our favorites and most accurate figures from the Thrid Party market. Of course, I do not yet Own a R01 Peru Kill, but I will definitely be getting him once he is available. ;)^

Here are some Youtube Video Links for you to see how he stacks up in video footage reviews.

Excellent Video!

Here are some scale comparisons with MPM-03

Okay, well that is it for my first choice for Movie the Best third Party figures. I hope that other Seibertronians will select a great figure to look out for and choose for their Movie Masterpiece collection or Third Party collection. I must say I am really liking how Unique toys and other Thrid Party companies are now making their figures in line with the MPM Masterpiece Movie Line that we are currently seeing a renewed effort from Takara Tomy and Hasbro. I will definitely be on the look out for my Favorites, an AOE Optimus Prime, or hopefully a ROTF Megatron! What's up with that Movie Masterpiece Blackout? What about Desert Camo KO Brawl? I love that figure.. but he feels too small for my collection.. So I am waiting for more news on the Third Party Decepticon Front.

Any news on a Masterpiece Style Star Scream outside of Takara's repainted Leader class would be also very welcome. I also want to get a similar level quality Hot Rod when a Thrid party releases him! I can't wait! Also, I am not sure which Hound to get.. I like the Wei Jiang version, but I have heard and seen on Youtube other versions out there that may be the best, especially if your are trying to do a MPM style collection with Third Party woven in. I am definitely doing that! Any helpful choices as a 3rd Party collection for Bayformers, please feel free to place that here.

I think there is a Master List somewhere on TFW2005 on all the Movie Third Party figures coming out.. it would be nice to get a copy of that here so we have a check list for those interested. I am unable to find that list at present of writing this thread.

Anyhow, I look forward to seeing what other figures I and others like me who NEED a thread like this as a "Go-to" buying guide.. Please help keep this thread alive with updates and images or links when ever a Movie "The Best" style figure shows up. This thread is for the best recommendations.. there will of course be multiple different bests, that's okay. The point here is to pick what you perceive as the best Transformer 3rd party that looks like the movie bot, and also appears to be fun, sturdy, and worth addition to your collection.

we only want the best cause we deserve the Best! ;)^

You can also Preorder him on various websites, with an average MSRP of $124.00 Plus Shipping US.

I've kind of lost my zeal for the movie-based figures in general, but I would LOVE to see a third-party company use the term "Bayformers" as an actual product line name.

Actually that would be kinda Funny! I like that. I would actually like to see them release figures under a Section-7 Line, which deals with the Bots from an Autobot Ally to NBE (Non-Biological entity) Enemy Perspective. With Boxes for the Autobots like a Stasis chamber (window box for bot viewing), while the boxes for 3P Decepticons look like Sector-7 Freezing Prison containers (window Box for bot viewing).

That would be cool. Collect all boxes and figures for a sweet Sector 7 style Area 51-ish diorama or display for unboxed and boxed collections.

Warning Severe Bayformer luv ahead!

So, I wanted to change things up here and basically not do a full on extended Third Party bayformer review like I did for Peru Kill..(AOE Not Lockdown).. but anyhow, I figured I would show off my most favorite bots so far coming out, and see if you guys had any updated info on them... I got these images from around the web, some on tfw2005 and some just on random sites..

1. I can Not wait to get this Third party take on TLK Hot Rod, certainly a breakout character, and fan favorite. Hot Rod is definitely hot right now, with his Deluxes being hard to find, and a market demand for a reasonably accurate Figure, here is my pic for the best Movie Hot Rod, soon to be hitting the 3rd party market, I hope!
TFEVO NOT HOT ROD!

I'M VERY EXCITED ALSO FOR THIS NEXT ONE..
UNIQUE Toys NO Optimus Prime! CABALLERO/Challenger

NOW ALSO, THERE IS ALIEN ATTACK TOYS VERSION OF AOE-TLK NOT OPTIMUS PRIME..
EARLY PRODUCTION SAMPLE..

Here is a comparison between the two products..How great is that we get two masterpiece contenders for the third party market for AOE and TLK!!!

It remains to be seen which is the better definitive Movie Prime, but I am very excited about both products..

Scaling with the MPM-04 seems on par, given the DMK-01 is about the same size, if not a bit smaller, so the Alien Attack Prime is pretty close in scale to the MPM-04 if not about the same height.
While Unique Toys seems to have their AOE TLK line up pretty much scaled about the same as MPM line figures..

Personally, I think I am waiting to get the unique Toys version.. but it all depends on how well both figures carry off the altmode, and bot mode to movie accuracy.. That should be the standard.

Edit: I think the Unique Toys version is better, however, the lower legs need more curve and less box a bit more rounded around the calves, and the forearms and hands need to be shorter, then it would look amazing.

I made this from various images around the web. Cheebs did a digibash on tfw2005, that looks great, this is a comparison from the CGI model AOE/TLK Prime and both AAT El Cid and UT Challenger.. Great options. Ulitmately if you want CGI Accuracy, go with Unique Toys.. But, if you want a good looking and nimble and thinner looking prime, go with Alien Attack Toys. I am probably going to just get the Unique Toys version (unless AAT El Cid is sold very cheap online). It's the best in my opinion, and yea, it may be a bit taller then MPM-04, but I look at it like most Transformers tended to get larger in the series, so why not a stronger and more powerful, and slightly larger Prime, after obtaining the Matrix, and upgrade sword, and so on.. why not.. makes sense to me. So for my collection... unless Takara can beat them, I'm going with Unique toys Challenger for the win!

Yea, I think UT nailed it here! ;)^

Edit: I have also been doing some further research on this guy, and I think the proportions are actually fine. I am sold on this one!  Great Job again Unique Toys! that's two for two (Peru Kill). Let's see what else they can give us, I think they are doing just AOE, So if I can be so bold.. Galvatron! Or Evasion Prime!

I think that the MPM line is going to do that because the 10th anniversary of the first movie.. Tho I really want to see a masterpiece ROTF Megatron, he was my favorite.

But looking at Unique Toys versus Takara Tomy and Hasbro's MPM 04 and 03, the third party seems to be more detailed and looks more expensive, I wonder if UT will give us a proper movie masterpiece figure for both Optimus Prime and bumblebee.

These really do look amazing. 'Bayformers' are my fave kind for their complexity, interesting designs, real world practicality and realistic alt-modes and while Hasbro/Takara toys range from the great to not so great, these third party ones here just look incredible. I can't even believe how they've managed to pull these designs off with such skill and execution. The robot modes look so accurate and kibble-free.

I've ordered Alien Attack Toys Firage. Third party version of Dino/Mirage from DotM and he looks awesome in the pics. Looking forward to receiving it. Already far more promising that the japanese-only Sideways retool Takara did. :P
