Chinese KO Transformers

So recently I was perusing ebay for reissue transformers. It's been awhile but what immediately jumped out at me were the 1984 G1 knock offs. I was amazed to see wheeljack, smokescreen, sunstreaker, hound, optimus prime etc., many of them range in price from $27 up to $70. After watching some reviews on youtube I was amazed at the overall quality of not only the toys themselves but the packaging as well.

I started collecting transformers in 2007 when the movie came out. I had tons of them however my heart was and always has been with my original transformers from back in the day. What I wouldn't give to be able to go back, walk into a store in 1984 and buy a brand new toy in it's original packaging.

I feel as though that's what these KOs are to me...a chance to go back and live that experience. Yes, what they're doing is shady but I can't seem to help myself.

Thoughts?

This is the question that's always lingering on this board: what do we do, personally, about unlicensed products? There's plenty of good points on both sides, and I for one don't think that this is an issue with a universally "good" resolution. Unlicensed products will always exist, either as an homage or as a way to grift a few extra bucks out of the populace. My thought is that you've got to go with whatever course of action you can live with. If you find yourself having legitimate buyer's remorse, then you probably made a bad purchase, morally or otherwise.
