iGear Gives Optimus the G2 Alliance Treatment

There's a new listing on Seibertron.com sponsor Big Bad Toy Store's site that will allow you to give your MP Optimus Prime/Convoy the royal treatment. Third party toymaker iGear has created a new cloak accessory for the MP figure that will give Prime the look from the Japanese G2 comic during the Cybertron Alliance storyline. The cloak is purple with a red lining just like in the comic and has clips at the top to attach it to Prime's chest. It's available for pre-order on BBTS for 19.99 and is expected sometime in the third quarter.

You also get this if you order the 2nd run of Faith Leader. You get one for both figures.

If that came as a set with one for MP Megatron, as well as the throne, I might be interested. But for what it is, it's an easy pass. Besides, don't care for the color purple on Prime's cape. S'okay comic-wise, but seeing it physically made for the MP figure, don't care for the look of it.

looks good throne would be nice add on to this set but im not so sure if i want this for my prime great price for cape ill hold off for now be great news if we knew there was throne to follorw this set then i would preorder with out hesitation

Robots with capes? Starscream, yeah ok. He's full of self importance. Prime isnt. Besides, its too long and would trial in the mud.
Why would Prime wear purple? Thats a Decepticon colour.

This is from Japanese G2 where the Autobots and Decepticons have formed an alliance. Megatron wears a red cape and both have merged Autobot / Decepticon logos on them.

You expressed the point perfectly.
There is no way that Prime would think so highly of himself to wear a cape like this, or be considered "king". This accessory is hair-brained. Sure, it works for Starscream. SS and a cape is a match made in heaven/hell.......Prime in a cape just makes no sense at all.

My only gripe is that it's not 100% accurate to the backstory. If you look closely, you'll notice one detail: Megatron doesn't have his Fusion Cannon equipped. Which incarnation does that represent?
Hint: the line it belongs to is technically an oxymoron.
Answer:
Action Master Megatron, which means Optimus Prime uses the same type of body. It's even mentioned in the backstory.If only Reprolabels could make Cybertron Alliance labels...
