Pictures have surfaced of CG renderings of a forthcoming 3rd party toy. It's Firebolt, G1 Hot Rod's Targetmaster partner, re-imagined with greater posability and detail to go with Classics Hot Rod.

It is so far unclear what company will be producing the figure although this figure will be known as Blazer and appears to be part of a larger Magnum Sidekick line. We'll bring you more information as soon as it becomes available.
The original story can be seen

Looks interesting, but I'll wait and see who's producing it, how much it costs, and what accessories the Protector set comes with.

That dude that Vange1us spoke at some con about the Protector set mentioned that it would come with a Targetmaster. Maybe this is it.

This is one cool looking 3rd party version of Firebolt. With balljoints at the shoulders, hips, and knees, this looks like it'll have impressive articulation for such a small figure.

They should also look at producing a larger version of this figure for Masterpiece Rodimus, as so far the pictures don't show any Targetmaster for Hot Rod.

I'm surprised it has taken this long to get some 3rd party Targetmasters being made. I figured that as soon as Universe Cyclonus hit stores that they would be all over the design, but nothing really ever materialized.

Maybe now that everyone (including myself) is all over the Headmasters exclusive KO box set and Headrobots is releasing Headmasters it won't be long before someone begins to milk the other G1 mini-dudes.

Not too sure about this one. Looks pretty cool in concept. I'll reserve final judgement for the production version. Plus I too am holding out for a Targetmaster to come with Protector.

Well, he did come with his own Target master, and at the time him and Rodimus were the only characters who participated in any of the "Master" toylines. I think Hardhead got the ball rolling.
Here's an interesting thought: Since there are still so few "Master" characters that get re-imagined, how much you going to bet that there will be future 3rd party Master kits that will be more like the upcoming Bludgeon/Whirl set? I.E: Not just the master figure, but parts to upgrade recent figures into other Season 4 bots?
I would love to have a Siren and Hosehead to go with my Nightbeat.

I think Hasbro is actually releasing Masterpiece Rodimus without the trailer, but with a Targetmaster Gun to make up for it.

No it's not.
And what was said to Vangy was that FP is considering making a Targetmaster that will go with the set, but it won't be part of the initial release of the Protector Armor.

This little guy is awesome. As long as third party companie keep making headmasters and target masters for the classics line, it doesn't seem to matter who it is, they can have my money. My Hot Rod is getting beefed up so quick. First the BTS rifle, then FP armor and new weapons, and now this.

Seconded.
And I'm thinking Diem knows a little more about this than he is letting on...

So with this it would be possible to have the 3 stages of Rodimus:
1) young punk who let's nothing stand in his way
2) untested leader who looks more impressive than he feels
3) a quitter who is now so unsure of himself that he literally lets someone else pick his shots for him
And I
like the character!

I'm waiting to see more of this guy. I'd like to see who is putting these out, and hopefully they use the 10-12dollar bar FP set for targetmasters. The whole "appears to be part of a bigger line" thing makes me very excited.

I'd be perfectly happy if someone made original Targetmasters for the Classic style toys. Why not made Targetmaster Chip Chase for Prowl, or Targetmaster Rhoul for Tracks? Targetmaster High-Q for Optimus Prime, Targetmaster Dr. Arkavilla for Starscream, etc?
