I got Crazy Devy's set #9 from BBTS Friday, and decided to take some pics with all the sets combined. Check it out, won't you?

Nice little video. :) What does the arm attachment to his right arm do, precisely?

Basically, it causes Scavenger to point in across Devastator's chest, like so:

The set looks great, aside from the right arm connector. (It's just stupid.)

But, if I added this up right, the full set of accessories is $150.00

By the time you buy a loose, complete G1 set in average to good quality, or one of the very high quality bootlegs, you're looking at $250-320.00 for the "ultimate" Devastator.

No thanks. Crazy Devy is crazy.

Meh, it's just one of those things that it's only really worth it if you already own the figure. I already did, and I got all the parts for it plus reprolabels. In my opinion it's well worth it, but only if you already own the G1 figure.

Which is why I like the way CD released them. I'd never buy all the sets in one go; no way I could justify the cost.
Now, twenty or thirty dollars, every 6 weeks or so? That I can swing.

FWIW, I kinda agree on the right arm connector. Unless you want to point Scavenger across Devy's chest, it's pretty useless.

Yep, they're G1 vintage, bought each one as I earned the cash.
Truth be told, I wasn't that impressed with the combined toys from the start, didn't look enough like Devy from the cartoon. Now I'm happy. ;)

I agree, and i for one am not prepared to spend that amount of money on these sets.

If anyone wants my KO (high quality) Devastator to complete their own ultimate version, drop me a PM and let me know...

You don't need a complete set of Constructicons for Crazy Devy, however. I bought mine loose without accessories and it totalled about $70. Of course I have a set of KOs and the chest piece and waist could be used from that, but you still wouldn't need to buy a complete Devestator to use for this set.

Same here, without these upgrades, the figure is pretty much useless. This is a worthwhile investment especially considering the way they are distributed. Like you said, paying $20-$30 every now and then is not bad at all, it's only when you add them up that you really notice.

Meh to each his own, but now I can't imagine owning a G1 Devastator without these parts.

I have to agree that CD prices are getting more crazier by each piece or kit that comes out, and i agree that these kits makes G1 Devy 1000 times better, but to call G1 Devy worthless without these kits is a little harsh to me! I mean come on, i grew up in the during the first airing of Transformers cartoons by in the 80's, i thought they was the most awesomeness thing since sliced bread and yeah yeah i know 25 years has passed and technology has improved so much and now Transformers can articulate, gy-rate, and transform themselves to kiss their own ass and such, but take a step back in time when your was 7 or 8 years old and looking in amazement and at all the Transformers that anyone has seen on shelves or hanging on pegs and getting that final Combiner either from your parents or grand-parents to get the final "Shock & Awe" excitement as a kid.

I said useless not worthless :P
I admit that as a kid I was excited to get it. Heck, it was my favorite toy at the time lol Still though, even at the time, I thought he was a bit useless when combined. He would fall apart, his legs couldn't move, neither could his head, and he looked almost nothing like the show. I admit that it didn't make him any less awesome, but I did still notice these things.

I don't know, I guess I like what crazy devy has brought to us, and I'm grateful for such add-ons that allow for me to make one of my favorite toys as a kid even better. Their prices are ridiculous however, and they do seem to get more and more expensive, but if they come out with more useful devastator parts I will be getting them.

And that is why they get away with the exhorbitant prices - they know people will buy the sets no matter what :BANG_HEAD:

Meh not really. If they tried to sell this stuff for like $60-$100 I wouldn't even consider buying it, but for $20-$50 it's whatever. Those that can't afford it won't buy it, and those that can afford it will only buy it if they find it worthwhile, which is the case for me.

Exactly.
Lord only knows what else they could do at this point for the G1 Constructicons (I'm still holding hope for screen accurate heads for Scrapper et al), but I'd only get it if the price was right. #12 is a perfect example. Unless they add a bunch more stuff, I wouldn't buy it even if I did have Fort Max.

Yea, $70 for that is waaaaaay too much. Personally, I'm hoping for some feet parts for Scrapper and Mixmaster with some slight articulation to help Devastator stand better with all the new upgrades.

Well i just got all the kits from CD and YES their pricey, and YES their worth it too make Devastator more Devastating!! But i would like to see another improvement like a spacer, an extension or something done for Bonecrusher's arm and maybe something done with his winged chest piece. I would say theres not much more to go to improve Devastator after upgrading him with these parts, but with Predaking coming out in 3 months and CD already has a new head and new Wings, im sure theres plenty more upgrades for him around the corner.

PS Personally i would like to see upgrades done to other G1 combiners!! Computron, Abominus and Piranacon come to mind!!

IMO they should make ball joints for the arms. It's easily doable and it is really one of the few things that Devastator can really use. That and Parts for the feet.

I've noticed that the "gap" in the torso is pretty much nonexistent on my upgraded Devastator. I think this is because I have the wing mounted in the top hole and not the bottom one. This causes it to hang lower and cover the area where the hole is.

Hey great idea about the ball joints! i support that idea tenfold.

And the same here about the "Gap" with using the waist piece and yes your right with the mounting holes on the chest wing piece as well. The arm extension piece for Scavenger i didnt mess with, but i will tonight, but im sure its worthless to use. With a new head, gun, hands, forearms, waist, legs and cartoon show accurate drum for Mixmaster, everthing is a BIG win for me. And seeing Devastator is much much taller than Abominus and Bruticus combiners i have is a plus!! Just got in Piranancon too, so ill have to size him up against him as well.

Yea, the arm piece for Scavenger is completely useless. I know I would buy ball joints for the arms in a heartbeat though...

Everything together is just so nice. It's definitely worth it in the end.

It really is a great set, but Crazy Devy needs more transparency in it's production. The way they've set about releasing their stuff has kinda turned me against them. despite me actually liking just about all their Devestator sets.

See, I'm not sure how much you could do for the Scramble City combiners: posable hands, screen-accurate heads (Well, Superion's was more Dreamwave accurate, but still), maybe a screen-accurate weapon for Superion. They could do new, jointed frames that the limb figures could plug into, but that'd turn out to be really expensive, I think.
