City Commander Issue, need help

I just got my City Commander this morning from TFsource and its amazing. But it has a small flaw, the left gauntlet wont click into place. Ive looked inside both thed the right side seems to have a small clip that locks onto ultra magnus original hands, the left side does not, it just hangs loosely.

Anybody else had this problem and any idea what i should do? this is the most money ive ever spent on a piece of kit, and im feeling pretty depressed now. Ultra magnus has one tiny arm. its not nice, im so paranoid its KO, cost about $180

I have the Original CC, DIA, Shadow, and CC2.0 and none of them have the issue you've described. If you got it from TFSource I doubt it's a KO. You should contact them about the problem, they will probably replace it if they can or give you some sort of refund. My first CC was missing the black connector piece that allows the trailer to attach to UM and forms the top of the BFG, and BBTS just sent me one in the mail. I've never had to deal with TFSource's customer service personally, but others report they are very helpful. Don't let this turn you off from FansProject, they really do make top notch stuff.

yeah having spent a good hour looking at it in detail ive worked out the fault was during manufacture. inside the fist there is a groove that a small piece slides into, this in turn locks the hand. it hasnt been put in, therefore the hand wont lock. ive temporarily found a fix, ive angled the arm guards out so friction holds it in place. still, it wont hold forever.

ive sent tfsource a message but i doubt i will hear till monday. every issue ive ever had with an order, they have gone out of their way to help with, thats why i use them over any other firm. i just hope given the rarity of CC now plus the fact im in the UK, that they can help. i know what u mean about FP items, ive got two explorer/munitioner sets and just ordered the first crossfire set, they are awesome

Could you just fold up a small piece of paper and wedge it between the armor and the arm in an inconspicuous place? I know it's not the best solution but it might provide enough pressure to hold it in place for posing. I've used this fix on a few on my figures over the years.

I had the same problem with my Shadow Commander set. It wasn't a KO, the same thing you did to keep it from falling works. I kinda like the look when u do that.

yeah i think the chances of tfsource sending a replacement is unlikely, although they are always very helpful. i hope they can suggest something.

ive decided to buy a second set. i know its insane, but i love the kit, even with this flaw. and right now i can afford the cash. seriously annoyed i spent 180 dollars on a piece of amazing kit with one manufacturing flaw almost ruining it.

just out of interest, anybody think its better to get another City Commander or get DIA Commander? considering i already have a CC

If you have Henkei Prime than I would go with D.I.A Commander. Also, I don't know how loyal you are to TFSource but BBTS has the D.I.A Commander on clearance for $80.00 which is $40 cheaper than TFSource. You can find it here:

Wow, thats a pretty excellent deal. Im only loyal to TFsource coz they are the first company ive bought from in the states and they have been straight forward, easy to deal with and helpful (stick with what works).

I have a bid in for a CC on ebay right now, i kinda hope it falls through, buying anything 3rd party on there always makes me paranoid. Ive never used BBTS but i will give them a go, for that price its almost half the price i paid for CC at tfsource and cheaper than any other source ive found. thanks bud

You are welcome. If it helps to ease your fear of the unkownn, BBTS is a very reputable store. In my experience they will give you just as good customer service as TFSource.

I JUST got my DIA commander from BBTS, which at this point I'm just barely lucky to accomplish since their stock is nearing gone. So far I have no looseness problems, and in fact I'd say it really stands up as well as my 2008 version of the commander armor does with the upgrades. I am concerned, however, about the pelvis piece and the tight connection it has with both parts it locks on to in either mode. I'd like to know if anyone who owns this version of the set can confirm whether or not this element will lead to significant paint chipping in future, since the whole reason I got a henkei convoy in the first place was to keep his paint intact, unlike classics optimus prime.

I have both a henkei and a classics prime in a DIA and Tfcon armor sets as well as both versions of CC and Shadow commander and I can confirm that no paint chipping occurs what so ever.. I have had a problem with the new release of CC and the waist peice not staying secure but the paint on all of them remains flawless..
