Ok, first off, I swore to myself I would never buy Henkei! Rodimus. It doesn't look as cool as the American version (which I still don't have), even without the stupidly-placed chrome (headlights? Seriously?) So, when I saw those first unofficial images of what we thought to be the completed TFX-04 Protector, and I saw that the mock-spoiler on the trailer matched American Classics Rodimus, I was so relieved. Then some other website showed what they said was the completed TFX-04, and had more eveidence to be so (actual painted eyes), and its mock-spoiler matched Henkei! Rodimus.

So, I don't know about you, but I'm waiting for the black repaint, the TFX-04B Shadow Scyther. I realize the BotCon exclusive with which it's supposed to combine is more expensive than a two-pack of both Classics and Henkei! Rodimus, but I'm not buying that stupid Henkei! thing!

Your hate on Henkei makes me sad.

Or you could get the upcoming Battle in Space 2pack with Hot Rod and Cyclonus.

Or anything else that'd cost less than $300.

I don't hate all Henkei. Megatron, Cyclonus, Astrotrain, Inferno, (Red) Alert and Hound all look amazing. It's stupid Henkei, i.e. Ironhide, Ratchet, and of course, Rodimus, that deliberately misuse God's gift to toymakers, that I just can't stand.

Yeah, but the plastic on that is a completely different shade of red than the one on the Protector. It'd be like getting the upcoming OTFCC Side Burn and putting that with it.

Henkei Ironhide and Ratchet are flat out superior to their Universe counterparts. There's really no discussion on that one.

From color choice, deco, plastic texture, and detail work, the Henkei versions are superior.

Based soley on paint apps, Henkei gets the win here. I have to agree.

I dunno if you know, but if you buy both Protector AND Sidearm, you get BOTH spoilers, both regular and chromed. Just sayin'.

To clear up your confusion. TFX-04 will come with spoilers that only match Classics Rodimus. If you buy TFX-05 Sidearm, he will come with a pair of chromed versions of the spoilers to match Henkei Rodimus.

Also, TFX-04B comes with both gray and chromed spoilers. So it will match which ever black rodimus repaint you have.

Assuming you've handled the protector armor, is there any possibility that the chest piece may rub against the hood deco on Rodimus?

While I am getting Shadow Scyther, I am afraid for the hood deco on BotCon Rodimus.

If you're concerned about the chest piece, you could just wait for the imitation knock-off like Henkei TC, cause you know what, it's only a matter of time now.

Thats something I wasn't able to check, with my short time in checking out the test shot. However, knowing FP, I'm sure this won't be an issue.

Any pre-emptive opinions on how the Shadow Scyther upgrade would look on the regular red Rodimus?

If your waiting for Shadow schyther I think you might be a tad bit dissapointed unless you already have 1 pre-ordered. That set sold out faster than Brett Favre( umm the 2nd time?)

I know the proto we saw at botcon was unpainted but when I got a good close look at it I had a hard time seeing how all of the peices "clicked" or "snapped" into place..Im still achin to get this in the mail round crimmus time

There is no wait. You either have Shadow Scyther on pre-order from 2 months ago or you're likely spending day and night just to get the privilege of forking over 200+ for the kit on the aftermarket.
