36% more garbage, 36% more waste of plastic, 36% more waste of my time.

I generally can wrap my head around these 3rd party accessories since they offer parts that are more accurate to the cartoon/comics like the Devastator parts. But in this case, it just seems like the same sculpt just resized. Though I suppose the LED's might be cool.

If anything, I don't see how this new head can help with the squat look of the figure.

I dont like the sculpt on his face, makes him look sorta shocked, not to mention I can get Renderform's sweet Skyfall upgrade for $10 bucks cheaper. >.>

And the 'con gestalt whose toy's head looks NOTHING like his animation model's remains totally ignored. Are the Terrorcons' toys fan-loathed because of their stubby arms or something? Abominus is probably the most fun G1 giant to play with because his exceptional leg articulation. He'd look awesome on my shelf kicking Computron in the face if only his face looked like it did in 'Money is Everything'

Then again, it really is more important to upgrade Computron's head first, even though it's a perfect likeness except for the visor color. And while they're at it, he could use a new gun that can actually he held by Strafe when he's the left arm...but no, that would make too much sense for CrazyDevy to do, much like Predaking's shoulder cannons, and a rifle for Superion that goes up the length of his arm.

Or better yet, an upgrade head for Defensor with no new show-model accuracies beyond corrected eye color, which you have to risk mutilating that rare Hot Spot who hasn't yet yellowed in order to install. Are you reading this CD? Come on, we haven't got all decade!

Im holding a G1 Piranicon head in my hands now and honestly see little difference. I think Crazy devy had their shine with Devastator, being that the original G1 Devastator was non posable and easily fell apart. But I think thats where the interest in add ons ends with most vintage collectors. I think Crazydevy wont last unless they are willing to make the transition from add-ons to fully transformable figures like fansproject has done.

I like these upgrades. I would never buy one, but I like them. It seems like $50 for an entire set of small armor upgrades to a vintage figure would still feel like too much. A complete uprgrade from these guys is WAY too much.

36% meh, 36% run-of-the-mill, 36% overpriced

If I had to guess (and really, that's all I do), I'd say that CD is trying to cash in on the recent G1 reissues, which are going to be in greater abundance and foremost in people's minds. Predaking and Piranhacon? Oh, hey, both rereleased in the past six months by Hasbro and Takara, respectively. Thus, they're most likely to be CrazyDevy's targets for the moment.

I'm not really sure if this is warranted. Personally, I cant see anything wrong with the G1 Piranacon head. I wouldnt purchase this for the sole reason that I love my G1's just the way they are and how I remember them.
But if they release a chrome sword like the shiny shiny re-release then I might be tempted. Something that adds to the figure but doesnt change its overall aesthetic.

I like and appreciate all the upgrades from CrazyDevy. Not sure about this one though, since I like the head sculpt of the original better. Still, I look forward to seeing what they will offer for future Piranacon upgrades. Articulation can use some improvement.

Well, I can see the reason behind the new head. The old one makes the figure look rather chibi. Of course I don't have Piranhacon, so I won't be picking this up. But over $30 just for a head is really steep. For just a bit more you could buy a KO classics Sunstorm.

I agree, though, G1 Devestator was the combiner most in need of improvements. I wish they'd finish him up instead of taking on a slew of other projects. And how about actually showing us what the figure will look like witht his upgrade on? And not just one cropped picture, but a few of them, like every other company?

Whoa! what happen to ya CD?

You did such a awesome job with Devastator's head and a good job with Predaking's head, what the HELL happened to Piranacons head? What a BIG let down, Predaking and Piranacon is my fav's combiners. I guess this will be a pass for me.

So they want 25 for a head that looks exactly like the original, but smaller? For the same price I can get a Perfect effect figure, that is 5 times larger, has more detail, an ass-load of extras, and another ass-load of articulation.

What's next, new fists that look like the originals only slimmer for 50?

That is hilarious, but I have to agree. CrazyDevy is front-paged twice right now. A reduced size head, and a pair of oversized feet. Both over-priced.

For those of you who care, and judging by the majority of previous comments, most of you probably don't. CrazyDevy updated their page with one of their famous teaser silhouettes of an upgraded Piranicon.

I have stopped caring for those, I won't even consider posting one of their "teasers" on a slow news day.

I reserve my judgement until I see ACTUAL pictures of these upgrades. While I would love for them to give KING POSEIDEN!!!!! (I just like to yell his name  ) more articulation, I don't want to have to sell my son to get it...and it be crap. And Blurrz I agree with you about the head....worthless light up peice of plastic.

Yeah, I don't blame you. The teasers they release are pretty useless.
