Should FansProject release Side Burn Protector?

If FansProject does decide to make use of the mold one more time for TFCC's blue Rodimus, what extras would make the release worth buying? What would be its name or back story? How much would you pay? What should be the run count (limited or relative 3rd party mass release)? You see my fellow 'Trons, this is where the slogan "For fans. By fans." comes into play.
Personally, I'd like to see a Sentinel Prime homage - complete with shield (that somehow transforms into a plow), lance, and head sculpt design cues.
Here's TFW's member, Digitalworld40's mock-up for consideration:

I'd rather see one for the clear blue Rodimus I have on preorder. It's be nice if they could make a trailer that somehow works for both. Maybe some parts could be clear and others opaque?
I guess Sentinel Prime would be a logical choice. Rodimus only looks like Rodimus to me, so whatever they do it'll just be "blue Rodimus" in my eyes.

I first read this as "Should Fansproject burn Protector." I thought, um...no, it's an awesome product. Then I realized what it was really saying.
I am not sure a Side Burn release would make sense because the figure (even though they use a Hot Rod mold) is a different character completely.

While I doubt they will, If I was preparing it:
It would get a name either like "TFX_04B BlueFire Protector" or "TFX_4RID Edition; Speed Stalker"
Convert Protectors gun extension into something that mimics the "bumper" from Side burns original launcher.
Convert the Scyther blade into a larger version on SideBurn's knife.
Repaint TFX-05 Sidearm and include "TFX_05+ Tactical Assistant" or "TFX_05RID Edition; Ai-Shooter"
Book the set as an exclusive with one store, sit back and wait an see how long it takes for KO to release a knock-off version.

I'm just going to go with a straight up "no". Side Burn is his own character who never had a trailer, so I'm not sure he should have one on his toy.
I can tell you I would not buy it.

Optimus Prime, Nemesis Prime, Shattered Glass Rodimus, and Wildrider all never had trailers like the ones FP made. In the case of Protector, Rodimus never had armor. Even the old Diaclone Powered Commander had the blue cab, so even that relation doesn't really cut it.
So as for a Powered up Sideburn ... why not? In the end it's just a toy in your collection. It really doesn't need a backstory to justify it's existence.

i say why not it would definitely sell out as id preorder one. regardless of backstory or homage to sentinel prime a straight recolor in the blue and white would be sweet. my only concern would be whether the colors are close seeing as sideburn is a few months from release.
on a side note maybe they could make an armor to hide the spots on transtech cheetor

I agree with this. When it comes down to it- it's just another toy (and an awesome one I might add) in your collection. For those who claim "no" due to no backstory from the original or simply the fact that the original didn't have a trailer- so what?? FP is a third party anyways. They can do what they want with all of this. They can make their own backstory (they already do with their stuff anyways). So I say the same- Why not?

I'm not apposed to the idea, it won't be the only exclusive blue Rodimus to be released so it might actually be viable exclusive to produce as a follow up to the Shadow Scyther in the same vein as the commander armors had done.
Plus, Sideburnimus Prime would be so danged funny displayed next to his brothers

Dudes, I already
LOVE the Protector Armor's hard angles, exhaust pipes, and flame decals.
But to have it in
blue, with
those awesome flames it has on it's chassis? I think I'd cream myself.

Should they? Sure! will they? doubt it.. In a perfect world Fp would simply improve or make a upgrade kit for very Figure but sadly they can't..
Now will some of the great customizers in this world make one? You bet your ass Im gonna do it

I have plans for a custom shadow scyther, sideburn and the clear blue rodimus from ehobby. No pointin waitin for FP I say

I would personally paint one of these up myself if I had the funds to buy an extra protector.
But BBTS is getting new stock of the Aerial Team Upgrade so...
I think this wouldn't be that uncalled for, seeing as how FP released Shadow Scyther as a limited edition upgrade for the already rare and expensive Wildrider and Shattered Glass Rodimus figures, I think that releasing a version meant for both the e-Hobby clear Rodimus and Fun Publication's Sideburn would be rather fitting.
Then all we'll need is for Reprolabels to release some flaming eight ball stickers.

I have to admit, though, a blue Protector kit would look absolutely gorgeous.

I really hope that someone from FP is reading this stuff thinking "Hey, that's a great idea".......

I would buy two sets.
I also wager there will be a whole lot more Fan Club Side Burns out there than there were SG Rodimii, so there will be a larger customer base. I bet they could sell at least 600 sets (as Shadow Scyther did).
I certainly hope it happens.

I'm sure it's already occurred to them.

This idea gets a big fat meh from me. I see no reason for it at all. I think it would look great but I wouldn't shell out for a third version of this kit unless it was something that made a whole lot of sense to me. Especially considering the nitpicks I have with this set.

For Sideburn I'd say no, I wouldn't want to see a Protector armor set for him. For a Sentinel Prime figure I'd rather have something more unique than a repaint Rodimus Prime. Sentinel Prime strikes me as a character from the ancient past. His modes should be a little more outdated if not quite as outdated as Kup.

IF...bif if...they did it I would buy it, only because i did not buy the Protector Armor because of my deep-seated hatred of Rodimus PRIME...not Hot Rod. Making Sideburn more powered up would be cool for me. Like I said....big "IF".

Well, the enormous chin needed to make it Animated Sentinel Prime would cover that neck gap everyone complains about...
Still, I'm making a Sentinel out of Kup so pass.

You know... making faceplates for this add on mold (and the commander mold) is an unexpected addiction. I made my own Scythe concept "fang" faceplate using thick card stock layers. I bet I could just as easily use pvc pipe fragments along with a dremel and a hot glue gun (I think I also have some broken sunglasses somewhere that might come in handy).

Fansproject has an email address where you can send suggestions right? Has anyone sent the mock-up to them? We
need to pour on the pressure for this.

I feel sick. I just bidded on a Shadow Commander (with nemesis prime) AND a Shadow Scyther on Ebay. bid £1 more than the initial asking price. Ive won them both :S. Craaaaaaaaaaaap, its £415 total
i think im gonna keep Shadow Scyther in box for a few months and use him with Side Burn the colour schemes just seem to fit in my head, altho Ehobby Rodimus could be an interesting combo.
Shadow Commander (which im PRAYING is authentic), Im tempted to display it with Protector, S.Scythe, City and DIA Commanders, im also tempted to sell it and pray i get a good deal. If anybody is interested in buying it (with or without nemesis) please get intouch, i'll sell it for what i paid
