3rd party Idea for classics seekers

Just throwing it out there if it hasnt already been done or suggested before, would people buy a 3rd party landing gear add on set for the 3 seekers and 3 coneheads?

I mean in jet mode the slot is already there under the neck, being this huge rectangular gap and even a rivet hole which hopefully could be used for a peg to slip into.

Production costs would even be lowered since there may be people, well definitely myself at least, that would be wanting to buy multiple sets of these things.

It's just an idea... any thoughts?

It's not a bad idea. It would make them look more realistic and more G1ish, but I'm fine with the built-in landing gear.

I can see where some may find it interesting, I feel it's unnecessary.

If they were done as a pack of 3 inside a set of other upgrade seeker items (g1 styled missiles, a megatron styled pistol for Screamer, the flamethrower backpack Sunstorm uses in the first g1 episode) then I could see it worthwhile for a 3rd party to do, but on their own... I don't see it as a viable product.

Not a bad idea. But Im not gonna lie, In jet mode its the long "kiddie missles" that bother me the most. I would like to see a small set of G1 style missles for the jet mode before I see landing gear.

I was just thinking of this yesterday. I would definitely like to see some G1 styled weaponry come into production. I was actually contemplating some real landing gear too. If a 3rd party company were to produce a kit w/ both ideas I would pick up a set for each of my seekers. And then again, it depends on how they look to.

I made my own nosewheels for my classics seekers. Earthquakes are too common and I have seen too many transformers go for a tumble off the shelf so I have to display in vehicle mode. I would love to see a null ray set though. They could sell them as sets of 6 pairs? Henkei colours and Classics colours. Didn't one 3rd party group make some nice null rays that do not interfere with the wings as part of a coronation set for Universe Starscream? It is surprising they haven't leapt onto the idea of repaints.

I would actual love the idea of a null-ray cannon set for the seekers, instead of having to buy 3 of the coronation kits for deluxe starscream. They would look soooooo much better. Somebody, get on that NOW!!!!!!

I wish they would put out those null rays for all 6 seekers. As far as landing gear, the original G1 landing gears were all black so theres shouldnt be a need to make a different one for each seeker. A one for all would be cool. I also wouldnt complain if they made the missles and null rays in white and let us paint them to match the seeker. Maybe that wouldnt be such a good idea for the null rays, but it wounldnt look bad for a small G1 style missle in jet mode.

As far as the earthquakes, why dont you invest in a curio cabinet with glass doors for your best figures ??? Thats what I have. That way even if they fall they wont take a plunge in robot mode. Out here in Miami we only get Hurricanes so I never had that issue.

The landing gear I made was pretty basic. I got an old model sprue, cut it into chunks that fit snugly into the width of the cavity, drilled a hole in each chunk, glued a nail in, cut it to length, then glued the head of a flathead nail to the bottom of the nail. I made it so the chest of the robot no longer hits the ground in jet mode. I painted them according to which seeker they went with, but you are right that is totally unnecessary.

The null rays would be wonderful. If they were done differently for Ramjet and Dirge, bonus.

Regarding the cabinet issue, I am pretty nomadic in my lifestyle at the moment and do not have any large furniture, and I would need a LOT of cabinets to fit all my transformers. Most are packed away in boxes and I keep a few on display.

As much as landing gear and new null rays might be nice, it's thwarted by the fact that there's been so many Seekers across several lines. Which ones get new null rays? Which ones don't? You have to match the plastic and paint, so you'll get many null rays, more than most will need.

I'm with everyone asking for nullray replacements, I specially like the nullray cannons inculded with the Starscream coronation kit.

Only 4 of the seekers, 5 if you count Sunstorm, used 'null rays'. 'Null rays' I mean by the weapon design (null ray as an ammunition was only used by Starscream). I would want them only for the original 3 seekers, the rainmaker seekers, and Thrust.

Actually, it was the purple Seeker that had the flammenwerfer. See:
