Dear TF fans,

iOffer.com is full of G1 Transformer KOs and I was wondering whether anyone here has some experience with them.

I'm VERY interested in Dinobots, Cyclonus, Scourge, Wheeljack and Sunstreaker KO. These KOs look amazing. Does anyone know if theyƩr any good?

Obviously I would prefer original Takara/Hasbro reissues. But I doubt these will ever be released since the molds have been destroyed...

Don't these look absolutely amazing?

I read a few reviews about the Menasor en Devastator combiner set. These reviews were based on pretty old KOs and were fairly good.

Does anyone know how these newer KOs are?

Your help and wisdom is greatly appreciated!

I used to have the Dinobots KO's but had to sell them because I couldn't stomach having G1 Ko's tainting my collection. They are high quality and very close to the originals. They even have the HasTak stamp on them. Those are the only ones I have any experience in.

Sunstreaker looks like the real thing.

Wheeljack? Some versions have the wheel rivets wrong.

Dinobots? Almost like the real thing, Sludge and Slag's face a bit rough in the molding. No experience with Snarl and Swoop.

Cyclonus? There's something wrong with the landing gear mold, it lacks a spoke.

Scourge? The destron sigil is the wrong color.

And this question seems suspiciously like a solicitation for the site.

Hi guys,

Thanks for your replies and no, I'm not advertising or anything. I've got an iOffer account under the same name and haven't listed anything for sale. I'm about to buy these figures to complete my collection and was wondering if they were any good, especially because they come so cheap!

I understand having KOs is crap, compared to the real deal. But damn, the originals are extremely hard to find, and very highly priced :(

At least I won't mind opening these to showcase them.

I've also ordered the Menasor and Devastator giftset.

Do any of you know if it's true that the original molds were destroyed and why do you think that Takara refuses to make new ones?

Thanks again for your wisdom and experience guys!

I don't think there is anything wrong with having a high quality KO. Your collection is about you and your enjoyment you get from the figures/characters. Calling them crap just because they are KO's is a little harsh. There are, apparently some great KO's out there. These look pretty good I must say. My only problem is people passing off KO's as the real deal and marking up the price as legit. Thats stealing as far as I'm concerned. The fact that KO's exist or are so close to the original or the people have them in their collection, I have no problems with.

I mean really, if KO's are going to be made, surely you'd want them to be as close to the real thing as possible, right? Plus, in my eyes, the boxes that these KO's come in are great. Its hard to get a G1 figure still in the box and the box still looks good. Its easier to get loose G1. Those KO's give you a good looking figure and a good box. In the event that you get the legit figure down the road, you've got a pristine box to display it in.

There are a lot of people who bash knockoffs but I'd be willing to bet that most who got their hands on one of those high quality knock-offs would probably handle them as they were legit. As far as I'm concerned a HIGH quality knock off is just as good as an official re-issue. Neither are original. As long as I get my money's worth, I'm happy.

I agree Joe.

You know what baffles me? If some Chinese third party developer can re-create G1 figures almost flawlessly, why can't Takara/Hasbro do the same?

Read this.

And yes, the original Encore Bruticus sucks so much that it makes me cry that the G1 Devastator KO beats it in miles.
(except it got double Scavenger guns)

I hate Knock off Transformers!!
The devalue my collection as they are identical and why would you want to sell them exactly? the only real reason is to con some poor soul into buying them as original G1 1980s.

They are however good for kitbashes or custom transformers i am looking for a cheap KO classics Jetfire to begin building my Custom botcon Dreadwind.

I hada custom Scourge which i began to hate for some reason, so i got rid off it on Ebay.
I really want a KO classics Jetfire so i can paint it to match the Botcon Dreadwind, this would be far better than and cheaper then buying a new classics Jetfire.
