It seems like every month we've got a new third party company bursting on to the scene. The new guys go by the name of Fans Want It (FWI), and their first product add-on will be for Hunt For The Decepticons Leader Class Starscream. The seeker almighty gets a saw as a weapon, and two back propellers, making the Leader Class toy more faithful to the movie CGI. For now we get prototype images of the add-ons. Enjoy!

Nice, I'll have to get these if they aren't too expensive.

It would be nice if the engines could be positioned towards the middle of his back, but cool nonetheless.

This just seems a little pointless to me.

I have to get this thanks to fate. I just bought this figure an hour ago on clearance at Wal-Mart. $27.00. I wanted the figure, but have too much movie stuff already. If this kit is reasonable, I can have an upgraded version for the price of retail release! I really like the jet packs ad I was just complaining about the lack of the blades/wings on the weapons! Win.

I don't get the need for the saw, is that something from the comics?
Also, F**K YEA! This is what I've been asking for ever since I bought this thing!
This is bought on release.

In ROTF, Grindor captures Sam, Mikaela and Leo in a car and delivers them to Megatron and Scalpel. However, Strscream gets to them before Megatron does, and he uses the blade to split the car in two.
Nearly a blink and you miss it kinda deal. Seems a pointless add on
The thrusters on his back seem out of place, and should be closer to his spine iirc.
This seems to be a moneygrab worth passing.

Oh that was Starscream? I always thought it was Grindor who split the car in half.
Yea, the Thrusters are too far out, damn it. I hope they change the prototype before they start production.

I wonder if their will be a place for the boosters in alt. mode. I was hoping to suspend this guy in jet mode. A bot mode only upgrade will certainly not help. STILL, I am buying this.

I don't think so, it would also be unnecessary since the alt-mode has thrusters.

it looks as though they attach on the wing's missile ports, soooooo, im guessing in jet mode, they form some big, under wing gun sorta deal

as for the saw, well, unless it folds up, then i dont think it will be able to fit anywere in his jet mode. still, i gotta get this.

Yea they plug into those holes under his wings, but that's also where the missiles go in alt-mode, at least that's where I think they go, I lost mine.

Yeah, he also uses it to slice Optimus once during the extended IMAX version of the forest battle. As for the thrusters, my though was that maybe you could switch them around on opposite sides so that the thruster parts as opposed to the connection pegs are pointing inwards? Depends on if there's enough room for them to sit okay without the kibble causing them to pop off...
Pretty decent add-on though.

Finally an add-on to a ROTF movie toy ! It looks very nice, but I would be even nicer if the saw could connect directly to Starscream's folded hand. Now it needs to be connected to the missile launcher, it seems ...
I hope that's the 1st of many upgrades and add-ons to movie toys. It is very disappointing to see the traditional 3rd-party companies releasing only G1/classics-related upgrades.
If this release is successful, I would like to see it followed by:
- New more articulated cannon-arm to ROTF Leader Megatron
(just a copy of the voyager cannon-arm already pleases me)
- New right arm (with hand and foldable seat) to HA Bumblebee.
- "Leader Class treatment" to ROTF Supreme Devastator, i.e. Leader class versions of Long Haul, Scrapper, High Tower and Rampage to give Devastator the bigger limbs he deserves.

the saw blade with the arm extension looks awesome! though i seem to remember the thrusters being in between the "front wing" and the "back wing" portions instead of just on the back wing.

I'll take the saw, not the thrusters. 'Nuff said.

I agree, it would be nice to see more add-ons and upgrades to movie toys. I would also really like someone to do a big upgrade to ROTF Leader Megatron. He needs two new arms, a new head, and something to make the tank mode look a little better. The first movie leader (premium series) was so accurate to his CGI model, it was really disappointing that the ROTF version was so off, especially for 50 bucks.

You may recall
early last month we brought you word of a new third party toy company called
Fans Want It who were working on an upgrade set for
HFTD Leader Class Starscream. New images of the set have
popped up an ACToys. The set named
FWI-1 comes with new thrusters and a buzzsaw hand weapon. The images are mirrored below.

Im not sold on clip on plane parts that dont work into the transformation. Im assuming in the movie those were the F-22 raptor engines on his back. If they dont somehow become part of the planes engines when transformed then it becomes less of a transformer and more of a Gundam.

My problem with this set is that the engines fit on his back. How many people display their figures facing away from you? You wont be able to see them.
If they were more on display then I could see the point.
There is a nice round peg on his lower back that they could have been mounted to using a third mounting piece if they had wanted them closer to the middle of his back.
I do kind of like the idea of him having his engines on his back but as I said in most poses you wouldnt know they were there.

Very cool. I'm not bothered about the thrusters and the other parts: well, it's more fun to make it myself!
