Mold flash on iGear Kup. *prob with the new one now*

Just got my iGear Kup head today. I personally fall into the "Last Stand of the Wreckers was the best thing to happen to Transformers since Simon Furman" group. So yeah I wanted the cygar head for my Generations Kup. Either way it would look much better than the terrible head he came with.

However, mine had a little mold flash on his face, probably from when the cygar was fused there in production. Call me picky, but when I spend 15 dollars on two tiny little heads and not a whole figure, I expect them to be slagging perfect. This is stuff I would easily overlook on a whole figure, even if I spent several times more on it than this. I'm ticked off because the head is the whole item, nothing else!

My question is, is it really worth complaining about? I haven't noticed it on any reviews or images I've seen. So I'm currently convinced that this may be an isolated insident. If I'm wrong, speak up. Show me your own Kup head. Besides, would complaining about it really get me anywhere?

If it is just me... Well that's no surprise. I'm from a long line of bad luck, I feel it all the time. Doesn't help having 2 black cats hanging around.

Edit: BBTS finally replaced it after I contacted them with a different address. But something else is wrong with it. Guess the quality is much more touch and go than we thought. *See my latest post.*

To be honest, I've seen far worse mold flash on official figures and their heads. I'd consider that a minor issue.

Yes, but think about this for a second. It isn't a figure, it's a head. I only paid for the one part. Why shouldn't I expect that one singular part to not have ugly flaws.

Flaws estimated in comparison of the size of the item to other items of similar or greater price and larger size. Put simply, a small flaw on a small item is not small, it is large, as the product itself is small.

My mom buys miniatures allot, I understand how this works.

BTW it looks allot worse in person. Kinda like he got sticky putty splattered on his lip. Hard to see on camera.

I just looked at my copy, and there's no mold flash on the face. I think you were unlucky.

If you're that upset about it, contact the seller you purchased it from and see what remedy can be given.

Well I bought it from BBTS, but the argument I was writing up was meant for iGear themselves. Part of me just doesn't feel right in laying the blame on BBTS and making it out to be their loss.

But if I wont get anywhere by contacting i Gear then I'll start writing up something super polite for BBTS. :-(

Just contact BBTS. It'll be resolved within a week.

Cool I'll just re-write a few things. And send it their way. :)

It's been twelve days since I e-mailed BBTS. Should I try them again or should I go straight to iGear?

I'd try again, which email did you send to?

You'd be like, the only person ever to not get a customer inquiry addressed by BBTS...

I sent it to service@bigbadtoystore.com

They sent me this:
BBTS wrote:BigBadToyStore.com thanks you for your email.
Our customer support staff will get in touch with you shortly.
We aim to respond within a few working hours.
Our Business hours are Monday through Friday 7 AM to 3 PM CST

As a rule, check your bulk mail folder first. In my recent experience with BBTS, I got the automated response, and it took less than 24 hrs for an actual person to respond to my issue. If it's been as long as you say it has without a response, then I would contact BBTS customer service again and reference the TID number (see the subject of the e-mail they sent you) you received in the original automated response.

Good luck, I hope all works out for you.

I'm not really sure if there is anything BBTS can do for you except swap out head sets and hope you get lucky and not get a damaged set again. It sucks it happened to begin with but really the problem lies w/ iGear. Their quality control missed this one.

A few years ago, I ordered an incomplete Predaking giftset (as I already had 2 Predacons and those were the two not included) and when I received it, it didn't come with the directions. I sent them a query, not a complaint, about why it didn't have it and they send me this an hour or so later:

"The instructions were not listed as being included with loose item. For your convenience we have included a file with the directions for you."

That's right, they googled the instructions and emailed them to me. Any other company would have either blown me off with a "and?" or just ignored me entirely. The simple fact that they did the extra step of providing it when they didn't have to should tell you what a class act they are.

You're in good hands. They'll do what they can.

Yeah, most likely they will send you the one replacement Kup head at no charge and let you keep the ugly one.

This is an e-mail address I typically don't use so it doesn't get any spam yet. But I checked anyway and there was nothing there.

It's actually OK with me that I haven't been quickly responded to yet. In my case, I'm somehow easily ignorable by everyone, and I usually have bouts of bad luck in areas where other people wouldn't. They could just be really busy though. :-?

I e-mailed them again last night, I'll check again this evening.

Give them a bit of time. You emailed them yesterday morning and again last night and are planning to AGAIN tonight? They will respond to you in turn as soon as they can do anything. They're the best in the business. Don't give them a hard time over something that's not their fault.

No, you misunderstood. I've only e-mailed them twice now. Once back on the eighth and then on the twentieth. Since the second time I haven't even received an automated response, which is a little worrying. :???:

Everything I've sent them has gone completely unnoticed at this point. A simple yes or no would have done fine, but they've given me nothing here. Do they only answer e-mails sent to them during business hours, is that what I'm doing wrong? I think they just lost a customer.

I would say that this is rule of thumb.. Best chance to get a answer, pester the hell out of them. I sent them 25 emails once about a small problem I had.. Problem resolved in less than 3 days..Be persistent, they have thousands ( if not more) customers..

Bro you need to relax man. Maybe they are busy with other customers that emailed before you did. Maybe someone from their office died. maybe you will have more good luck if you chill out like i do man look what im wearing a kimono dog and im on my chill-astic couch, nobodys more chill than me.

Just give them a chance and check your junk inbox on your email account

Still no response. Do they hold something against me? What did I do? I always pay, I'm a loyal customer, when I can't find anything locally I always buy from them, not because of price but because they are reliable and they've never lost anyone's credit card numbers like friggin TFScource.

Why? Why the hell am I being treated this way? All I want is a yes or a no, but they can't even lift their s**t long enough to say "F**k you." Has ANYONE heard from them in the past month at all?

I guess I'll just have to order everything from Robotkindom from now on. Jesus...

Why not just remove the cygar and glue into the mouth of the other head and call it a day?

That, would be admitting defeat. And possibly stupid I if I just end up wrecking it.

As unlikely as it is for them to respond either, I'm going to e-mail iGear.

I'm surprised they haven't responded. I guess their customer service isn't perfect after all.
