Hi all. Say I'm looking to free up my Henkei Con - I refuse to call him that, that IS - Optimus from my fansproject armor. Should I get take my chances and search a real Classics Optimus, or get a knock off and customize it to look how I want it to?

I haven't heard a good thing about the KOs of Prime working within the Armour, so I would suggest finding another legit one. A quick ebay search shows that the Henkei Primes aren't too expensive at the moment, and I'm sure if you lurked aroubnd the BST forums of here and other sites you can find one for a decent price.

The main problem the Ko versions of the armor have is the shoulder peices. For some reason they just cant get them to stay tight. The chest and head peice tend to be a bit wobbly too. Asthetically speaking the paint tends to be sub par with alot of overspray and some slight modling differences.

Now if your plans rae to customize the Ko version I say it's a perfect fit. Not anywhere near as much as the regular version. Just know that it will take some apoxy sculpt or whatever you want to use to fix the imperfections. I have a bunch of Ko primes and a few Ko sets laying around and I have to say that they are perfect for customs but not as a stand alone set.

A good classics prime on ebay actually isnt to bad anymore ..The avg going rate is around $50..I snagged a few awhile back for $45 each so the deals are out there..but they do dissappear fast..

Thank you. I too, am waiting for my Classics Optimus to arrive. He doesn't have the wind vane or the stack gun - BUT I did get him for $25 plus shipping, so I don't consider that a loss 8) 8)

I got my Ultra Magnus without his windvane but I have a few Ko ones laying around. Looks just fine to me :) Seems like that is a common peice to be missing along withhis stack rifle..

No one has done a quality KO of Henkei Convoy or Classics Optimus yet. KOLD has KO'ed the mold, but AFAIK thus far it's only been released in rare or previously unreleased color schemes; they haven't even gotten around to doing an Ultra Magnus with the mold, despite its utterly redonkulous aftermarket price.

You might find this of interest, though: kotoys-blue-colored-convoy-for-powered-convoy-t75320s100.php

I just received one, and it's pretty nicely done, though the joints are fairly loose compared with a HasTak version. Haven't tried throwing any of the FP armors on it yet so I can't attest to the fit.

just got my Classics Op from ebay. Even though it is old and the paint job could use some touching up, the joints seem to be tighter than HK Convoys believe it or not. FOr the first few seconds I had him in the armor, Classic Op could almost hold up the BFG, and could pose him more sinse all joints seemed to be tighter.
