Wow, 3rd party doesnt play by regular pricing rules. Guess I'll cross that one out as something to buy.

Maybe rules was the wrong word. But for what reason would they raise thier price on these twice? Just replace whatever item is for sale in a store but instead of lowering the price On something that's older, they raise it. That's not what we are used to. It's like buying from a collector with a business. I'm not crying because it's out of my acceptable price range. It just seems like gouging to raise a price toward the end of a production cycle.
Why is it a 2 pack of these guys is more expensive than each individual? Lots of sites have them listed a lot cheaper but it of stock. However you can buy both together for more.

They still follow the rules of supply and demand. Less supply = more demand.

It's still different. Here in NC when they say it's going to snow, bread and milk are GONE. They don't raise the price. So it's as if these online retail sellers are acting as collectors and retail at the same time and I don't like that kind of selling.

They're not allowed to. The government subsidizes the production and sets price limits so that everyone can afford bread and milk.

You can't compare luxury items like collector's toys to bread and milk.
More demand + scarcity = higher price. That's just how it works. It pays to buy them when they're first announced.

You also have to consider that the second production run had fewwer figures made than the first run.
I bought the second run of Munitioner and Explorer. They were priced at about $55 each. It wasn't cause they knew they could get that much either. Fewer figures made in a run equals to a higher retail price tag.
Now they are worth money and you have to be willing to pay.

I am so glad that I plunked down the money for them in pre-order.. They are two of my favorite transformer figs ever.

To be honest, I haven't even looked into how much they're worth. Saw the protos and immediately knew they would become a permanent fixture in my collection - if not the centerpiece. Starscream and his Combaticons have always been the third faction in my mind; my favorite part of the fiction. FansProject made their name with City Commander, but Colossus is the reason why I never miss a preorder. Even the packaging boxes combined! It's one of those things that means more once you realize, that FansProject's fans helped them get their foot off the ground into a legendary sprint. These are truly "the fans' toys", hence priceless IMO. And believe me when I say, I'm not a hype-man. Pardon the throwback picture, but I gotta do it for my own joy...

They don't call him it for obvious reasons but Munitioner is Swindle and I don't miss a Swindle. I only got Explorer for Bruticus. I'd have actually preferred him as a shuttle though. I'm a huge fan of America's space program. (R.I.P. 1972-2011)
