Were you a fan of Corbot V's first foray into third party accessories, the War Axe for "War for Cybertron" Cybertronian Optimus Prime?

If so, site sponsors BigBadToyStore.com and TFsource.com have put up a new preorder sure to intrigue you:

Simply called "Carnage Axe", this new offering is around $5 US more than the original release. It appears the axe is colored to coordinate with the recently released, Scourge-colored, Dark Side Optimus Prime. You can also pre-order this from TFsource.com.

This item is a limited edition of 1,000 pieces with the red and black confirmed coloration. Here are some additional photos from TFsource.com.

It will be mine.....

But hey, Iv'e got a good question.
What happened to that WFC Optimus Prime add on kit?
It came with a new chest that opens up to reveal the matrix, new hands, and a new axe, and a couple other things, anyone else have any news on that? It was posted here a long time ago before I was a member, but I remember my jaw dropping...

And "Dark Side Optimus Prime"? How come there's always a "Nemesis" or "Dark Side" of the good guy, but no "Savior" or "Hero" version of the bad guy? Kind of one sided, idn it? :BOT:

Mine as well, I've been drooling at the United 2-pack figures since I got them yesterday. Carnage axe would be cool, among other accessories.

Also, you may be referring to BTS' G1 upgrade kit. Everything you listed (except new chest) is what is in the release. I don't remember a full upgrade kit mentioned for WFC OP.

With a red Decepticon symbol. Ok. What story arc is that one from? And don't the "Nemesis" and "Dark" Primes have the purple Decepticon symbol? Is there an "Autobot" Megatron who has the red Autobot symbol?

A third party add-on for an exclusive Transformer. Oh, how primitive :P

Botcon exclusive? Just one more thing a returning collector like me wouldn't know. Other than Jetfire, it didn't seem as though any Decepticons had ever changed their mind about their path and decided to join the Autobots.

*shrug* I only got back in myself 2 years ago(after 4 years off). However, I kept reading Toyfair and keeping track of Botcon(cause I still planned to go if I had the money) to keep myself in the loop.

I'm playing catchup, big time. So much to learn. So much I never knew. My old collection in the 80's was all G1. Gave them all away to a friend's kid brother in late 80's. Just got back in two weeks ago and have been learning a dizzying amount of info in the short time I've been back into this. :BOT:

Haha, BotCon is the annual Transformers convention hosted by FunPub/Hasbro. We get a ton of exclusives toys from that, some of which you can see here; http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... usives/37/

I think the BotCon '10 figures are missing but that's about it. BotCon has been going on since.. well it's been going on since the late 90's. Amount of exclusives and attendance has increased dramatically over the years.

FunPub also manages the Transformers Collectors' Club, whose membership will give you 6 magazines (not why people join) and a free figure (why people join), as well as access to two exclusive figures throughout the year (why people join too). Signups are done for this year, but you can get into next year. Membership to the TCC also gives discounts for those attending Botcon.. http://transformersclub.com/

Haha, and you've picked the best place to catch up in! Don't worry, most of us here are eager to answer your questions and help put a giant hole in your wallet :)

I'm really glad to be a member of a community who's into this. Last night and today's questions answered about the PP01U helped me avoid buying a Transformer that could easily break in the midst of a simple transformation. The first thing that bothered me was that TFSource has a no refund policy on the PP01U and the clear version. That lead me to ask if anyone here had the PP01U and if it broke in transformation and apparently this is common enough for iGear to want to recall these things but, I guess they didn't? :BOT:

First off, welcome to block. :D It's all a matter of how you handle them, in my opinion. I held PPO1 and PPO1C in my hands at BotCon this year. I bought PPO1 but passed on 1C. Clear plastic anything is just inferior to the solid plastic its emulating. 1C seemed brittle and fragile like blown glass. There's a youtube video of a guy breaking it several times as he attempts to convert it. Sad and horrible. PPO1 on the other hand is sitting happily on my cable box in my bedroom. I absolutely love it. He's in perfect scale, in my opinion, to all my classics and generations figures. Much more so than the real Masterpiece Prime.

Thank you. It's good to be here.

But was that PP01C you saw at the Botcon the Reissue that is supposed to be made of stronger ABS that fixed the alleged mold problems from the PP01? I asked about this also in my PP01U Thread. :BOT:

PPO1, "Faith Leader" Optimus Prime, was the direct bootleg of MP-01. I have that one, it's perfect. Yes the abs feels thinner than your true Hasbro/Takara product but it had to be to retain the detail and all the function of the original. I mean, even the leg vents pivot on this thing. PPO1C was the clear version of MP-01 and that thing just screamed delicate. I have PPO1U on order because I love PPO1 so much. It's the second release, but I don't know of any upgraded abs changes having been made to it. I won't know until I receive it. I won't get him until my FansProject Insecticons are ready to ship as well. Got to save where you can with this hobby. The people at TFSource are really nice. When I spoke with them at Botcon they said that so long as I report any issues with my purchase within 7 days of receipt, they'd take care of it and would make it right. One of my PPO1 guns had the handle broken off and they swapped it out no problem, hassle, or cost to me.

Excellent. I'd love to hear from you about your PP01U when you get it, as to the quality, materials, etc. I saw the PP01C and considered it, but your review of it changed my mind. I think the Faith Leader shall be my next Autobot.

I might - Image mightImage - order one of these beauties to go with DIA commander... But if the blue was in blue, ala Prime's ax from the animated series, I would definitely cop one for sure.
