A while back Slagacon teased us with a concept image of their Vector Zeta convention exclusive when registration went online, but he was quickly taken down citing a technical issue. Well now he's back, and a prototype image of the set has surfaced on Full Metal Hero. According to the Slagacon website the set is cast is resin and will be an extremely limited run. As you can see in the images mirrored below the upgrade is designed for Classics Optimus Prime, giving him his Powermaster look. Click here to visit the Slagacon for further details.

Updates: The prototype image is actually an older image by a customizer, though it does bear striking similarities to the concept and the two are likely related. It still gives us a good idea of what the set will look like.

It also appears the "Apex" portions of the upgrade will be next year's exclusive. Visit the Slagacon website for additional information.

That’s right! Vector Zeta is back and available to pre-registrants! This add-on armor set is designed to attach to a certain classic good-guy leader, and is exclusive to Slagacon 2011. This will be available in limited quantities, and only available to pre-registrants.

Due to the short production run, Vector Zeta will be available for $175. After pre-registration, any available stock remaining will be available at the convention for purchase. Once they are gone, that will it! So get your registration in and get your hands on this sure-to-hot item!

It's nice, but I'm glad this is something I can live without.

Wow, must resist! That looks like a Godbomber wannabe trailer. He looks awesome but I can't afford that price tag. TFcon's Stronghold add-on and sticker set was pushing it for me at $100. I would put the money down if it included Hi-Q powermaster.

I agree. They put way too much in the lower legs.

It's a shame that this is a con exclusive for a con I would never be able to attend.

This would be a decent addition to the collection.

So where is the convention? I like the design but it does not grab me by the throat and say 'BUY ME!!!' like City Commander does

Looks very nice, but it really could use more detail and paint apps.

Looks neat but I feel no pressing desire to get it. It I find it at some point for a decent price, I'll probably pick it up, but I'm not going to hunt for it.

I still plan on going to Slagacon this year, HOWEVER, I WILL NOT be buying Vector Zeta.

I DID originally want it, based on the concept art. At that point, I THOUGHT we were getting a COMPLETE Powermaster Prime w/ Apex Armor for $175. HAD that stayed the deal I thought it was, I'd have no problem forking over the money.

NOW, I've heard that the blacked out bits in the concept art (the Apex Armor bits) are NOT INCLUDED. The Apex Armor is Slagacon 2012's exclusive.

With that piece of knowledge, I'm no longer interested. $175 is WAY TO MUCH for just the first half of the trailer. If that price is any indication, you will surely be paying $125 OR MORE next year for the second half.

Some may be happy with an ADD ON KIT for Classics Optimus Prime costing $300 OR MORE, but I will be passing.

I'll be using the money saved to either buy Maketoy Giant or the first half of TFClub Hercules.

$175 is simply way too much. Especially for resin. I love Powermaster Prime but I can't justify this. I'm just going to have to hold out and hope someone else gets around to doing it.

Ya know, I like the Ultra Magnus add on set. But I'm really liking this Powermaster add on look. I love Powermaster Prime!

It looks...okay. But its design isn't the best, phrases like "convention exclusive" & "limited run" indicate a rarity & pricetag even I won't pay, and resin is an istant turn-off. Easy pass. Still, this is along the lines of what I've been waiting for; PM Prime upgrade for Classics Prime.

Thought I better comment. That pic of the 'prototype' was shown a year or so ago in a wip/kitbashing thread. Think the original creator stopped the process looking for a distributer. So that pic of the addon set, probably wont be the actual finished product. Since then he as added more parts/detail to it compared to the new sketch.

is there a non-atendee package, i want this but would like to get it from the source. is there anyone going who could pick one up for me?

Ah I see, thanks for the info. I'll update the frontpage to let folks know it's an "older" prototype pic, but still gives a decent idea of what this thing will look like.

Yer I do appologise I didn't make it clear enough about the pic. Set looks great, but when I read some people were not sold on the 'prototype' pic I thought I better jump on it and clearify it was early work. I am not even sure if its the same maker also. I only came to that conclusion as the artwork was very similar. So if anyone is going to be boo'd at its me.

Wish the Slagacon was in Atlanta. I'd surely go. I like this armor. Just one more reason why my next prime will be a Classics Henkei.

The concept drawing looks great, the prototype not so much. It looks like a little kid trying on his daddy's clothes and I understand that it's only half the armor. They price is terrible especially if you have to buy it in two equally expensive parts to get the whole effect.

I am thinking that G1Uppers Firemaster upgrade will blow this one out of the water. At least I hope.

Vector sigma... the draft looked cool, so thought, cool! then the real deal, .

So relieved that I don't like this. I couldn't afford it, and my Powered Commander is already using its space.

For a custom this is pretty cool. For an exclusive, this doesn't do it for me, especially of it int be completed until next year.

Next year? Forget it. I'll have a Classic Prime and two armor/trailer sets by then. They can keep this "conference exclusive".
