Doesn't look that great ... yet. Could just be the color of the material they're using.
Still, if this comes through, it'd be a great companion piece to Protector. Glad I bought WTC Megatron on a whim now.

The head sculpt looks like a Roman gladiator fighter or something. I hope this continues to disappoint. Pretty telling of the state of 3rd Party product when you're rooting for it to suck so it'll be an easy pass.

It's a step in the right direction, but there's something very off about the face and the horns. I would be thrilled to see a larger version of Galvatron, though. Whoever is responsible for this creation, good luck!

Maybe.....I definitely want to see the finished product first. Like everyone else is really starting to scream "Let's see a finished product instead of prototype and silhouette pictures......

You don't need to see finished photos there. The sculpt is awful.

I agree about the step in the right direction..
However the size in the comparison pix is nice..
That is the City Commander set and he is quite large so this set would make Megs/galvy large enough. Size would definitely not be an issue.

I like the idea of using the WFC Megatron toy as a base for a Galvatron toy but from the looks of the WiP photos, I'm not on board for this.
The main detail that gives me pause is that the components are quite large and bulky. The proportions seem wonky to me with bloated arms, torso, and lower legs but skinny thighs. There's also not much clearance at the elbows and shoulders, which further give the figure a bloated appearance. I can understand the intent of giving Galvatron a significant physical presence but the WiP parts look goofy.

I... think we'd better see where this thing is heading before passing judgment.

From the shoulders down it doesn't look bad.

Hope they're not using Heart of Darkness as reference pictures.

Ok... what's the point of showing a prototype at such an early stage? It's like saying: "Hey everybody, we're working on a Galvatron Upgrade Set... and it's going to SUCK!"

The crown, helmet, face, shoulders, forearms, hands, and where the fusion cannon attach all suck. The proportions are just terrible and I honestly can't see how it could become anything close to an altmode. This thing should be scrapped now and totally redone from the base figure up.

wow, every single one of you guys posted an asshole comment. goes to show what anonymity on the internet breeds.
maybe it will turn out cool, it looks like they're just attaching blank parts so detail can be sculpted in later possibly. the head and cannon could very well be placeholders for the final design later. I have hopes for this, as i dont really care for WFC Megs and a bigger Galvy would be nice to have. give these guys time, maybe something polished will come out of it

I'd argue that we're all posing honest feedback. If we didn't post in this manner, then whoever is making this may assume we like it as is (which we apparently don't). Since it's at such an early stage in development, there is a chance that changes can be bade to placate the fans and thus turn a profit in the end.

Maybe they could have waited until they go to a more polished stage before releasing a WIP photo. As it is it looks unappealing and chunky so it's not really creating the kind of buzz you might expect.

Pot calling the kettle black?
Not "every single one" post in the thread before yours was negative. In fact there are posts that are supportive of this upgrade set. Did you actually read the thread or did you just see a few comments that don't unconditionally love this upgrade set and decided to post?
Man up and directly counter any posts in this thread that you don't agree with. Quote what was written and directly deal with forum members who posted comments that you don't agree with.
What most posters have done in this thread is give their opinions and/or
critiques of what is shown in these photos. People are saying what they do or don't like about the upgrade parts shown and
why.
X-Transbots leaked photos of their upgrade set WiP parts and so they're open for criticism. It's as simple as that. With such early stage parts, they're not creating positive hype with impressive visual design. They're just inviting negative opinion and speculation.

Yeah I've got to agree with Mkall here. Giving honest feedback can lead to possible changes that may improve sales and the mold in general. Not liking a WiP shouldn't classify you as an a-hole.
