So if been trying to get the 2009 version but its just too expensive with all the other stuff if been gettin so i came up with a plan. I picked up 4 of the 5 2005 figure( no kickback) and the two fp guys.

Havent received them yet but wondering if anyone else has done this. The colors aren't quite as military looking but don't think it will look terrible. Only concern is all the purple on blackout

thoughts?

i used energon barricade for the boody of my classics bruticus and gave him the red eye piping from the onslaught from the 2009 pack. i thought it was more color accurate than the grey and purple one. the grey and purple one is now energon barricade and the other my classics onslaught. it wont look too bad but you may want to do some repainting if you can ;)

I'm fortunate enough to have the Target set, was never sure why it wasn't produced in equal numbers to the Superion one tho....

That aside have a look here for some pics of what you are trying to achieve.

Hope that helps :-)

Thanks for the link. That looks pretty good. Ill have the lighter green tank but dont think that will be a problem.

Now I just need the next two FP Insecticons to come in so I can ship everything.

i think its a good combo and feels more G1 accurate, but some dont like the brighter energon colors

Finally got my guy assembled after misplacing the box with Energon Bruticus for over 3 months. Was pretty sure I threw it away and have been kicking myself in the butt for the last couple weeks after seeing how much a replacement would cost.

Anyways the only snag I had was fitting the new Bruticus head but fixed that by boring out the clip with a drill bit.

Over all it looks good even with the brighter energon colors. The only glaring bits are the purple on what is now Vortex.

Cant wait to have him standing next to the new TFC Devy.

Here are pics of my Bruticus, I haven't really seen any around like what I have. I like it, looks like G2 colors.

Pretender Skywarp's link has a crazy AWESOME collection of photos...complete breakdown of each figure complete with a comparison to G1...excellently done and able to make anyone drool over wanting to start this project themselves (I know I do :-P)

Bruty is the best done combiner+upgrade so far (Supes was kinda horrid IMO but I haven't liked him since I was a kid and 2 of those little square blockheads broke off of mine LoL), and I shudder to think how Menasor would be done...even his cartoon depiction was rather...disappointing.

Blurrz, your pic has CRAZY resolution and shows alot of awesome details...
but one question, why both space shuttles? Makes his shoulders look huge and pointy...I dub this version the "Legion of Doom" Bruticus (after the big shoulder spikes they wore LoL)

Maybe you could find a way to fold the nose cones and make him look like he has big football-esque shoulderpads on...then he could totally shoulder-block anyone into oblivion.

Xd.

It's actually just our galleries using Explorer, Munitioner, and their repaints Flameblast and Warcry on Onslaught. Think he just did that to show it could work. Personally I think it's pretty cool;
