I actually saw one over the weekend and it looked decent enough...until dude snapped off one of the arm kibble pieces transforming it. So yeah, not great quality plastic. And his color scheme differs from the actual one...at least his did.

I ordered him off KOtoys a couple weeks ago, he should be due any day now so if you want i can put up a little review once i get him but yeah i heard hes supposed to have bad quality. i bought him with the idea of doing some custom work anyway and also i was able to nab one of the fansproject city commander armors from their recent restock. so thats what hes basically going towards.

I have the Shattered Glass version of this mold, and it holds up very well from what I can tell, even survived some heavy repainting and part-swapping pretty well to make him look just right. The kibble-doors ARE a pain in the neck though, not so much because they may break if pushed too hard but because the joints they're on tend to become loose fast. :\

From what I've heard, the KO Ultra Magnus really looks bad in the City Commander armor. He doesn't hold the extra weight of the armor well.

I didn't even know there was a KO UM. I mean yeah you figure if there was one for Prime why not. This is the first I have heard of it! :VEHI:

Yeah ive read a little bit on what threads i could find on the web but no pics to help out. Hopefully it doesn't look to gruesome with the KO. If so then ill just be out less then 20 bucks.

Ok heres the deal..I customize alot of transformers and I use those Classics ultra mganus' for fodder. They suffer from shoddy paint aps, they have a red decepticon logo on the shoulders and if you plan on using it for City Commander, you will be dissapointed. The shoulder peices will not fit and he torso peice will not stay on unless you really wedge it on there.

Cut your losses..save the $20 and start checkin ebay for newly listed Buy it now Ultra Magnus..Trust me..You don;t want a Ko when it comes to Ultra Magnus...

I had all 3 of the KOs (Prime, UM and Nemesis) and from what i can say, IF you have other option (like repaint from some original mold), better go that way. One thing, this is truly A KO QUALITY (for the sake of this argument, would call the CHMS Seekers as 'Unofficial' product )

The part attach to the arm are easily breakable, some newer batch had an excessive plastic there that made blocking the transformation which also resulting in breaking the plastic. The upper body is attach with a screw which made it easily loose after transforming a few time. It was fixed during the KO SG, Wonderfest etc. And yeah, the head is short

If you're using for the City Commander armor

KO City Commander + Original Ultra Magnus = A bit loose
KO City Commander + KO Ultra Magnus = MASSIVELY loose

Just my opinion cause i owned a lot of the KOs

I can vouch for the Quality improving after they released the SG and the wonderfest. I own both and personally the Sg prime is fantastic..The earlier models though were horrible, but at the same time awesome for customs as the imperfections could be modified quite easily...

yeah, the newer release were ok. fiddle around with the KO Crystal Convoy and KO Wonderfest. However, if you're aiming for the earlier ones, i think better not. Not to mention if you're using it for the FP Add On, will have issue fitting into it and also the shoulder joint won't be strong enough to hold the BFG ;)

Man that sucks since I already paid for him and hes on the way. I was planning to use him with an official fp armor. Oh well ill have to make due. Ive been watching ebay too for non ko ultra magnusus but they are just way to pricey.

So does the plastic break easily?

well, the clear plastic parts on the arm a bit brittle (and easily loose) and be careful in case you get the one with excessive plastics, gonna snap if your force to fold it. some missasamble on the inner piece of the shoulder, if can't transform properly to alt mode, to force that also

Just got it yesterday and i have to say i disagree with most of the comments about this guy. His joints are super tight and weapons fit and work just fine. Plastic feels pretty strong and not as cheap as some of the seekers i got a while back ago. I already knew about the paint apps and decepticon symbols so that was expected. the only thing that was off was the front grill which is a little... off, shown on last pic. so over all this is an ok knock off, not good just ok. City commander is stored away in my POL still. so ill have to wait on that.
