Kinda looks like Grimlock's old head... I'm in my black and translucent red phase, so I'll bite this last time. Cobra!

I really like the product these guys put out but I don't see the point with this one. Onslaught was never a Headmaster.

Beyond that, there was nothing wrong with the original mold. If you have the Takara version, he's accuarate too.
It's nice too see this set also includes the MOAR WEPPINS IS AWSUM AND BADASSED philisophy.

Feel like the bayonets could be longer, and maybe a less bright red, but that's just me.

True, what is the point in makeing a non HM a HM head seems a waist but then how many HM have classics figures, still they could have focused on something more deserving of a new head.
As good as this is theres nothing that appealing about it im happy with his normal one.
i would get it for some guns.

To be completely honest, the character representing Onslaught is now merged with the rest to form Bruticus. I'm perfectly fine in re-appropriating Universe Onslaught into a new character with this kit.

I can't find Vorath for my G1 Mindwipe at a decent price so now that Peaugh mentioned it works really well with G1Mindwipe i think i'm gonna get this figure now. I really want a head for him and this just might do the trick. Why not...... right?
Plus it's a bit ironic that ROTF Mindwipe had those big red daggers and this release comes with the daggers too.
Damn he's gonna look good.

the way I've always seen it is the Onslaught in Crossfire Bruticus is a new guy,(he looks totally different from G1 Onslaught anyway) like a newly trained soldier or something. Universe 2.0 Onslaught is the true one on a secret mission or newly promoted/reformatted or some BS like that. Getting a Headmaster upgrade would cement that story in my fanon I think.

Same here with Onslaught being merged and the figure being a "double". Who would this guy be as a different character? A Headmaster at that? Not criticizing, I'd honestly like to know.

I'm currently thinking Dropshot. Colour's pretty close, maybe a few tints darker. The altmode is pretty much the same. And with the new head, he'll pretty much match Dropshot's head-shape, if not the colours.
As an added bonus, you can put him, Fansproject Flameburst (red swindle repaint), and HFTD Tomahawk (will need re-stickering) and get 3/4ths of the Micromaster Military Patrol

No real idea at the moment, as I've yet to actually put much thought into it. My first thought would be SG Hardhead, but that seems a little too obvious.
That's not a terrible idea. I'm not sure it's enough to make me buy the kit but yeah. I'm pretty over this mold, the base and the upgrade. I have Hothead, Stronghold and Henkei Onslaught. Two great upgrades for a sort of mediocre mold. I don't think I can justify a third upgrade for it. Not unless someone has some crazy good idea for it.

Heh, in the time it took you to reply, I'd edited my above response.
TL,DR:
Micromaster Dropshot

I would only want the Hothead version of this mold, since it has those engine sound effects that apparently got messed up and isn't in the onslaught version.
As for crossfire onslaught, to me, that is old G1 onslaught after undergoing upgrades and such. These heads are neat but I'd be happy with just the hothead with his headmaster... when I finally pick em up one day.
