The Transformer Superalloy C-80 Wheelie Survivalist Pictorial Review

The first thing you are probably asking yourself is "What the heck is The Transformer Superalloy C-80 Wheelie Survivalist?", and that would be a valid question. There's quite a bit of misinformation surrounding this figure, because two different third-party groups are producing versions of Jazai Toys' Wheelie and Powerglide. There's the version that I mentioned earlier and there will a version by X-Transbots known as TB02 Survivalist/Detectibot. The Superalloy version has been upsized to roughly Deluxe size and is composed of about 75% diecast, hence the name. From what I understand the X-Transbots version retains the original Jazai Toys scale and is made entirely of plastic. Hopefully that clears up some of the confusion.

On to the review. Keep in mind I don't have the set-up, equipment, or skills that Seibertron has.

He comes in a small cardboard box about the same quality as most third-party companies use and encased in a plastic tray. Also included are his instruction sheet/mini-poster featuring the art from the back of the box, two cards one of which is translucent, and a large sticker sheet with a bunch of additional faction symbols. Sadly no slingshot accessories, but according to the box it will included with their next release Powerglide.

Construction, like I said before about 3/4 diecast, plastic naturally, and rubber tires.

Articulation, ball-jointed head, shoulders, elbows, wrist, hips, and feet. Hinged knees and there's also a little added articulation in the hips due to the transformation. His shoulder articulation isn't the greatest, but it's acceptable.

Overall I'm pleased with my purchase. Initially I was little disappointed with his rather large size, but considering all the upscaling the Minibots have received in the Classics line I've come to accept his growth spurt. I paid $53.00 which included EMS shipping. The only place I know to purchase this figure is a seller on iOffer. It's the same seller who previously offered the KO Headmaster 10 pack.

Well, that's pretty cool, if not a bit lacking, detail wise...

there's so much die-cast that i can forgive the lack of detail. also its a sized up almost legends size figure so take from that what you will. i was very tempted to get him, but hes just too big for me. he'd probably be more appropriate as a buddy for MPs Grimlock and Hot Rod.

How do you figure? It's got more detail than Wheelie's actual animation model.

Oh, and Ace's Toy Store have said they'll be carrying these. I'm a little put off by the size too but I'll probably bite anyway. Powerglide is a must for me.

Keep in mind I didn't apply any of the decals, so those would add some detail. Since I took the pics I've added an Autobot decal to his chest, but that will probably be the only one I apply.

I bought mine from this iOffer seller:

http://www.ioffer.com/i/transformers-wh ... ource=eisi

I paid $53.00, but it looks like he's asking $55.00 now. Still though, considering this is a third-party figure, the amount of diecast, and the inclusion of EMS shipping it's a pretty decent price. Flux Convoy mentioned Ace's Toystore plans on getting them too.

Ive never bought form ioffer before, is it safe? is that seller good? and is that Headmaster box set worth it? Is the quality near the originals?

HA! Well played, sir or ma'am.

I couldn't help but notice the Elite Guard sticker option. If Wheelie is in the Elite Guard then, to paraphrase Ned Flanders, it "looks like [The Elite Guard's] easier to get into than Arizona State."

iOffer is as safe as eBay or any other auction website, you pay with PayPal so you have some built in protection there. As for the seller, he's legit. I've purchased from him twice now, Wheelie and the Headmaster gift set. The Headmaster gift set is very nice, it's on par with the originals. No complaints what so ever.

OK

Thanks, I had most of the originals years ago. But sold them off, the money was too good to pass up. Dont really want to spend that much anymore on something like Headmasters. Might have to snag one of those then.

Not really impressed with the alt mode. For as big as they made it it could have been much more elegant.

Who's the green helicopter guy in the last couple of pictures?

That is Fansproject's Warbot Defender; an homage to Springer.

If he came with a rusty arm and a grimaced face, I'd be all over him.

As it is, it's a better toy of an annoying character.

I'm probably the odd man out in my dislike of diecast, so I think I'll probably hold out for the smaller X-Transbots version… I'm just not sure whose going be selling it.

I have no need for an MP Wheelie. I'll just wait for the iGear one and hope it's $15 like their other mini-bots.

I agree. I'll either go with the iGear version or the MT one. I'm hoping MT's minibots are a little bigger since it appears the iGear ones are legends size.

Same here. I'm anxious to see MT stuff.

Looks great. Thanks for the review, El Duque. Ever since I saw the scale comparisons I've been thinking of getting this guy as an MP Wheelie. Could you maybe take a few pics showing off the (lack of) articulation? I want to see what kinds of things he can do before I shell out the cash. Of course, it is a very reasonable price anyway, much less than I paid for that terrible G1 Arcee figure...
