CHMS Turning Their Attention to TFCC Side Burn?

Not exactly a shocker, but it looks as though CHMS is turning their attention to knocking off TFCC's Side Burn. I found this image on their
weibo account. I'm guessing the Side Burn pictured is authentic, but given they're already producing other KO's of the Classics Rodimus mold this is probably just letting us know it's coming.

I'm not surprised, but I will say that this is getting old.
We're officially entering an era in which the term exclusive is no longer exclusive when all you have to do is wait around for someone to bootleg the figure in question.

I'm fairly certain it's been confirmed that this figure is not getting knocked off. You can check for yourself over on the KO Toys forums. I'd take much of what GenZhao says with a grain of salt but that's what he's saying anyway.

Theres not an ounce of sanity or a single moral between all of them over there so I wouldn't believe anything coming out of their mouths or keyboards.

This figure wasn't even expensive at the outset. Sigh. I find all KO's to be fairly awful, but this really takes the cake.

wow youd think theyd copy something that fans are craving.its not like this guy was a must have for collectors as a whole.its not like people said "i have to have this to complete my classics"
i guess their holding out hope fp does a blue trailer for him
then again maybe theyll get some of the paint apps right.
edit just realized well probably hear some real rage from otcc about this one.if they were upset about other 3rd party stuff this will undoubtedly piss them off royally and rightfully so.

Eh why hope Fansproject does it when they will probably just KO it themselves.

I really don't see a problem with this. I understand the sentiment of bashing KO's in the KO portion of the site, but to the buyers of unofficial toys, it's a great option. In comparison to paying 40.00+ for a figure that may or may not be available on popular online auction sites, KOToys is only producing what they are allowed to produce in order to establish their own internationally competitive presence. Yes, speak with your wallet, but also reflect critically of why it matters in the grand scheme of things. After all, it doesn't seem to matter to almost everyone else.
On a side note, discussion of morals is hypocritical in almost every aspect of the history of our human existence. In perspective, what's right and just in this world is completely determined by the written bias of the few with influence or as some like to label: the winners. I mean, while buying a KO is immoral, spreading freedom to unwilling unready sovereign nations (with oil reserves) is the will of everything good? I may have a skewed perspective, but at least I try to be consistent.

I think the KO love posts are more suited to the KO Toys forums than these.
I'd be surprised if they DIDN'T KO Sideburn, really. Unless the Rodimus KOs aren't selling well, milking the classics molds is what they do. Although I kinda agree on the "why bother?" and the exasperation sentiment. If they were gonna KO the Rodimus mold it'd be nice if they did something clever with it.

i only say that because if they ever did which i doubt then the official one would go up in price and everyone who said it was an ok figure will all of a sudden say i have to have it. were such a fickle bunch
but yeah youre right theyll probably do their own version whether fp does one or not.

While they did say they didn't have plans for a Timelines Side Burn KO, there is no reason to believe they wouldn't KO the deco and slap it on a red version of the toy to make a Super Side Burn!
Honestly I'd much rather hope they make NEW figures with their copied mold, then straight out reproductions of figures I can already buy. I can see it when the original toy is impossible to get and costs $500 sure, but Side Burn is easy to purchase. They need to make stuff like Chromedome, Super Side Burn, anything else NEW once they are done with SG Rodimus and Henkei Wildrider. How about a version of the mold where the clear plastic in the windows and missile is glow in the dark? How about a G2 florscent version of Rodimus? That would be fun and new!

Why is this such a surprise? they announced this back when they announced that they KOed the mold.

Probably because they announced that they would NOT be making club Side Burn or club SG Thundercracker last month, and despite the reports of a photo on a web site in another language, they still say they are not making Side Burn. It seems they don't want to make toys that you can currently buy from the club web site.
They also said they are NOT making a Punch/Counterpunch or G2 Breakdown with the custom heads. I don't know if this means they are making them with regular Sideswipe heads.
According to latest reports after they release a KO Henkei Wildrider a custom Chromedome based on Classic Rodimus will be next.
Here is a concept of the design:

I think they would be losing money making KOs of Side Burn. Sure, the aftermarket may be more than the $40 it cost to join TFCC and get some free magazines, but seeing the KO of SG Rodimus go for $40, it just doesn't offer that much of a pricing difference to buy a KO rather than the original. But I'm also going on the thought that anyone who really wants an original Side Burn can get it for under $100 on the secondary market.
KO SG Rodimus and Wildrider! Even back when these were first released, you had to pay about $80 or more to get them. And I agree with others, try to do something original like Chromedome or something original with different colored pieces.

The biggest Joke here is that these KO's still cost 40+ even though it's a crappier, less durable version of a 10$ toy.

I think the facts here are my choices are a nice figure for $500, or a slightly lower quality one for $40. It's not like the quality is even that much lower, reviews have been positive, and it comes with an extra missile!
