How would you feel about a 3rd party company that specialized in high
quality up-sizing or down sizing TF toys.

basically it would be a 3rd party company that creates more media accurate sized scaled transformers toy versions. they'll re-create all the TF toy sizes hasbro/takara got wrong in size scale.

They'll all be high quality & not cheaply made KO's. i hate increased or down sized low quality KO TF toys. because most KO TF toys are made of cheaper plastic parts & break in your hands. also MOST KO TF toys omit parts & do tons of short cuts to save money. the paint apps, colors & sculpting details is extremly low/awful on most KO TF toys.

Examples: (1)ultra sized BM Tankor (2)titanium 6 inch rodimus prime up size it into a 8 inch ultra sized toy or a 9.5 inch leader sized toy. (3)BM Nighscream down size it into a basic sized toy. (4) classics 2.0 galvatron up size it into a 8 inch ultra sized toy. (5)10th anniversary new mold deluxe beastwars megatron,up-size it into a voyager sized toy.
(6)energon ironhide down size it into a deluxe toy & up size energon rodimus toy into a voyager. (7)down size master piece megatron into a 8 inch ultra sized robot mode+gun mode. thus far still waiting 2 years for i-gear to do this, wonder how much longer igear will take. (8)up-size generations deluxe thunderwing into a voyager sized toy. (9)downsize some of the alternators/BT toys in deluxe sizes. to make e'm more better size scaled. (10) down size a few classics, generations & RTS voyagers or ultras into deluxe sized TF toys like as follows: 2.0 powerglide into a deluxe. generations seaspray downsized into a deluxe.
down size 2.0 silverbolt into a deluxe. down size 2.0 onslaught into a deluxe. (11) up size classics 2.0 cyclonus into a ultra sized toy. (12)up size generations scourge into a voyager sized toy. (13) upsize energon sharticon into a voyager sized toy. (14) up size energon mirage into a leader sized toy.

so what do you think? is their enough demand for this or not? are fans happy & satisfied with wrong sized toys that don't match the media sized scaled versions? should a few 3rd party get in on this or is this a no money profit thing?

Given past experience, combined with given lack of caring about the scale of most TFs after 27 years worth of TF toys 'not getting it right'..... no, not really.

Next.

Agreed. For the most part, TFs are decently in scale with one another, with a couple of exceptions. I'm going to spend my money on original effort, not reverse-engineering and changing the scale of existing figs.

Sounds neat, but not sure if I'd buy into too many like this.

I'd say, if a 3rd party is going to take the time to do HQ size changes, might as well spend the HQ effort to release some new designs as well. Example - you say make voyager-sized Cyclonus and Scourge, but it's still not getting it right. I don't want to repurchase a large portion of Classics figures to get another scale. Also, others companies are already working on deluxe-sized G1 "mini-bots", so a down-sized Powerglide or Seaspray probably wouldn't be a big sell.

I'm all for 3rd parties, but give me something new.

ive never seen a high quality toy from a knock-off of a has/tak mold. i would rather 3rd parties spend the time in R&D and get us new molds like how fansproject, tfc, maketoys etc etc are doing. not taking a mold from has/tak and just upsizing it..... im happy with some of what has/tak are doing. biggest dissapointment from has/tak and one that i wish they would have made voyager.......deluxe size galvatron.....wtf man.

Considering the price of 3rd Party figs, I don't think I'd have much interest in paying out the ass for something I already have a few inches bigger or smaller. I'd maybe consider a couple (like Galvatron,) but I doubt I'd bite on many, if any.

Obviously,if Their gonna do this. then it makes sense to only do the ones TF fans really want. Examples: 2.0 classics deluxe galvatron up-sized into a 8 inch ultra sized TF toy. MP Megatron down sized into a 8 inch ultra sized toy. titanium 6 inch rodimus prime up sized inton a 9.5 leader sized TF toy.

I'd call it extremely unoriginal on the part of the 3rd party company (what, they can't come up with their own design of an existing character?), plus when I factor in how much more 3rd party stuff costs ... yeah i'll stick with my originals and support the company that brought, and continues to bring me TF entertainment.

A shrunken down MP Megs sounds like a disaster to me. The official one is a fragile enough figure. Shrink that plastic down plus factor in the typical drop off in plastic quality (however minor it may be) with a 3rd Party...spells broken if you even think about trying to transform it to me.

Galvatron is the only one I can think of that I'd consider. But I didn't buy iGear's KO Prime so I don't know how much more likely it would be that I'd bite on Galvatron.

The thing with upsizing anything is that you're stuck with things like gigantic ball joints and blunted edges.

Maybe if they added new kinda of joints and detailing it'd be something, but the novelty of upsizing / downsizing has been lost on me since the early days of my collecting. For all the trouble they'd go through to upsize deluxe Galvatron decently, I'd rather they just make a whole new mold. Kinda like the new "MP" Galvatron only ... better.

True. I'm quite likely to pay around $100 for something original and awesome rather than something I already have in another size.
