An image has surfaced of a possible third-party SD Optimus Prime. The figure looks to have multiple points of articulation and does retain the ability to transform. The figure is also pictured in alt mode with what appears to be a cardboard trailer. Image mirrored below.

hoooray!

Something else I don't need to buy!

It's cute and adorable, but like all cute and adorable things, I don't want it on my shelves.

Not my thing. Maybe cute for my girlfriend, but not for me. What does "SD" stand for ???

1. Stupid Dummy
2. Slightly Deformed
3. Seriously Demented
4. My next guess to too "Rated X" to type here so use your imagination...

That's awesome, And the fact that it can transform is added bonus too!

Depending in the size it'll go great with my ever growing collection of SD Kotobukia model kits.

I dig it. It does have a bit of a Gundam vibe, but I love Gundam so that's fine with me. I'd only get it if it comes out and I happen to have the extra cash.

Not keen on the vehicle mode but the robot mode looks sweet!

It is cute, but what might kill it for me is that, while I could be wrong, I have a hard time believing it might be a perfect transformation. I cannot for the life of me see where some things such as the lower arms or especially the head might fit in the alt mode, and would be rather disapointed if they were just removed and put aside.

I can live with that in an older toy, like Convoy Jnr., but a newly designed product, like the similarly SD Disney Convoy, should be designed to keep everything in one piece.

And I thought Primars looked neat, this little dude's gorgeous! I hope the final product's face doesn't stick out from the head as much as it does here, it doesn't look like it should, other than that, this guy's right up my alley! :D

Look at how chunky his legs are! they're like Stormbomb's legs times ten!

That looks to be the case, but I don't mind cause the rest of him looks so good. ;) I don't see how they would be able to store the head though, I guess it could have been on a pole that slid into the trailer, but then you wouldn't be able to separate the cab. This is exactly why I think someone should be doing SD Headmasters. :P

A headmaster would be different... and awesome. But a seperate head that just gets tossed aside (again, if this is the case -- can't say for sure untill we see more) would just be meh. Me no like. But if you don't mind, then by all means I hope you enjoy the hell out of this if you pick it up. :D

Alt mode on that thing is hideous. The Primars Optimus has it beat for alt mode but this one wins for robot mode.

Hmmm, I think I'll pick one of these up. Bot mode looks really nice. I wouldn't be interested unless it transformed, so they got me.

LOVE the bot mode, but the alt mode is a mess. It would be cool if it looked like a SD truck cab, but it doesn't.

I can already see the back of the packaging.

"Transform from Super Deformed robot to horribly deformed truck and back again! (You know, because no one's going to want this truck mode on their shelf)"

I'm pretty sure transforming it will involve removing the head and forearms. It looks cool, but I think I can easily pass.

Lol the alt-mode looks just as good as MP-01 Prime.
Also, I don't think the head and forearms will store in the trailer, seeing that the trailer is just a piece of cardboard.
Depending on price I might bite, just to have a cute little bugger like that.

Looks nice but pass. Maybe if I ever get that Mickey Mousimus Prime to go with it...

We have some new prototype images of the third-party SD Optimus Prime that was announced in early December. The images mirrored below were taken at a recent trade show and posted to the TEKMEN weibo page. Despite his extreme proportions the figure does appear to transform (looks like there is considerable "parts-forming"), has multiple hands, and comes with a trailer.

No thanks,not for me either.

I think the abbreviation "SD" comes from the Gundam toy line & means "Super-deformed". in other words hasbro's TF toys equivelant when the artist/designers create TF body parts or limbs shorter or bigger than they should be. example: Classics 2.0 ultra sized powerglides toy extremly long robot legs, super tiny torso, short arms & over sized robot head.
