FansProject, where art thou?

I was hoping somebody in the know might be able to shed some light on how FansProject are doing. The last piece of new info we had from them was the Heartmaster photos back in the summer. And their last release (Backfiery) seems like he came out ages ago. Does anybody know what they're up to?

The rumors say that they're working on Stunticon combiners, but I too am worried about their lack of communication...

With all the other 3rd parties around now releasing loads of stuff, I'm not worried that FP have let it be a bit quiet. They just had a very busy year. I'd also wonder if the amount of competition out there, and ocmplaints about multiple companies tackling the same characters has led to them taking a wait and see approach. They might be coming up with a few ideas, getting them as close to ready as possible and making sure that no-one else is going to try and compete with them.
Not that I see many of the people who buy 3rd party products going with someone else over FP if there's a direct comparison, but if there's more than one option available to people, there's always going to be some who won't go with one of them. Whereas if you're the only company producing a figure of a character, anyone who wants that guy will go to you.

Apologies. Guess I wasn't concentrating.
I'd read a couple of rumours: one saying they'd shut up shop, and one saying they were infact MakeToy. And there was the way they released FansProjectCore with a fairly big flury, and after a few weeks it was basically dead.
It's a shame they're not more vocal. I wouldn't mind if it was just that they were taking a break from it for a bit. I've been praying that they hadn't called it a day as to lose them now, given what they've started would be a colossal shame. Cheers for the data, folks.

No worries, easy fix.
As for the rumor of FansProject shutting down, false. From what I hear a KO company that is planning to release KO versions of their Insecticons started that rumor.

FP also recently re-released Shadow Commander, which may still be in stock at BBTS.

The rumour that they're shutting down was started by a KO company trying to pawn off KO FP Insecticons as the "last of the stock"
The second rumour certainly causes confusion and I think there is a close relationship between the two but they're not the same. Anyone thinking otherwise need look at the distribution methods and how they differ

Also, MakeToys is Japan based, while FP is China based.
Might I remind everyone that FP used to release one thing each year with very little communication and that this year was an exception to this? I'm sure we'll hear from them soon enough.

Yeah, not too much to worry about. FP gave us a great year. Let's hope 2012 is another great one.

Fansprojects is always with us. In our hearts.
And more often than not, in our preorders. I still haven't picked up the Nonsecticons yet so I'm in no hurry to find out how much their getting form me next year!

I am.
It's the impatience of living in the Internet-enabled age of instant gratification that does it. I love FP's stuff, get all of it, and as long as they keep producing it I'll buy it.....I'm just greedy for more and the edge can be taken off that craving if I know what form of goodness they are sending my way next.

Somebody get that nail some aspirin. It's taken one hell of a whack to the head.
Given how much other amazing stuff is out there at the moment, the credit card's quite happy staying holstered for the time being. But the collector in me is eager to get on with it and inevitably buy whatever FansProject are working on.
I'd forgotten about the re-release of Shadow Commander. It doesn't seem like such a long time ago now you mention that.
Cheers for explaining the differences between FansProject and MakeToy. As for that KO company: shame on them for knocking-off CA-03 to -05. But they're utter b***ards for starting such a rumour. Thanks for clearing things up for me.

Like Mkall said, besides the Heart Master, rumor has it they are wanting to do the Stunticons.
is this the combiner pieces/accesories for the botcon animated stunticons? or 100% completly new stunticons molds that merge & form menasor.
Hopefully if fan projects does the stunticons, their in proper size scale. 4 basic sized stunticons & one deluxe sized motormaster to be toy accurate size scale. if their going for cartoon size scale then 4 deluxe sized stunticons & one voyager sized menasor.
I don't want to see 4 voyager sized stunticons & one $27 usa ultra sized motormaster. I dislike over sized toys. this is why I'm not a fan of TFC Hercules

Fansproject is not the company planning the Animated combiner pieces. If they do make one, it will be in scale with their upgraded Superion, Bruticus and Maketoys Devastator.

I'd really like they come up with a new Heartmaster teaser. Just in order to know what character is meant to be...

The group G1Uppers will be producing the TFA Stunticons upgrade, haven't heard anything new from them since August.

I'd prefer that a Classics Menasaur stay in scale with the other official combiners (1 Deluxe, 4 Scouts), but wouldn't shed too many tears if someone utilized the existing Deluxe figures as limbs and Nemesis Prime (or an original Voyager-sized mold) as the body.
I agree that 1 Ultra/4 Voyagers would seem out of place. It would be more advantageous to fans by finishing the non-represented combiners in current scale than starting all over for everyone to match Hercules scale. I'm still getting Hercules, though.

There's been some activity on FansProjectCore.com. Nothing groundbreaking, but it's reassuring to know they're still with us.

From what I understand/heard, they should be inscale with their Bruticus set. I guess that's 1 voyager 4 deluxe. But when I say deluxe, I mean in Munitioner and Explorer size, which to me are small deluxe's. I hope that will be revealed soon.

I consider the Bruticus limbs to be Scout size...but with Deluxe engineering.
What are the existing figures mentioned, though? I know there's a 'Classics' Dragstrip and Wildrider, but even if using Nem Prime, what are you using for Breakdown and Dead End? The movie figs? That would be...'interesting'.

The "not Stunticons" should be their first full gestalt. Every limb and torso. They aren't using the pre-existing Dragstrip/Wildrider/Botcon Breakdown, or movie guys. I'm hoping we will get more stuff soon, but as with Fans Project, they won't reveal until they are ready.

I wonder what happened with their Heart-Master figure? Maybe the fan demand wasn't there and they decided to scrap it?

From what I've read, there's apparently plans to put out two figures 'on the quick' before they get to the Stunticons...this may be one of them.

He's not high on the list of figs I want, even though he looks cool. However unless it's a homage to a figure, I have less interest.
IMO 3rd party companies do best when making figures that collectors will recognize and want, but wouldn't work on the main market due to whatever reasons.
