I wouldn't mind the box so much, if the lid was able to turn into a shield.
But even so, when you look at the price of the average transformers gun sold on shapeway. With this set, you are basically getting the box & a pistol for free.

what's the deal with the box? I can only imagine it's gonna bump up the price by a amount, some fans won't be willing to pay for the entire set.
IMHO,If your gonna create a accessory box. at the very least spruce it up a bit & make it look non-generic. examples: creating a accessory box designed in the shape of the matrix of leadership. creating a accessory box in the shape/design of a transformers faction symbol.

Surprised so many of you seem to be put off by the storage locker. To me it's the highlight of the set. The whole point is to have a somewhat realistic looking weapons locker to display with your figures to store loose weapons. I ordered two, just to get an extra locker.

I don't know if the lid comes off, but it does have a handle. Given the size of it, a deluxe could treat it as a bulwark.

I did the same actually.
I was on the fence about the set, but the locker put it over the edge.
I liked the locker so much I also ordered two.
I have so many loose weapons I'll use one for my Autobot shelf and one for the Decepticon shelf.
Then smaller bots can stand on the boxes Gimli style.

I agree. I really like the locker and as far as driving up the price, this set is $15. As ESPN would say on Monday mornings, "C'mon man!"

Pre-ordered.
$15 shipped = bargain.

If this set is going to be shipped with the weapons in the storage locker then I hope there's going to be some padding. Not too keen on the idea of having them rattling around loose during transit.
Still a neat little set.

The locker is the only thing I like here. I'm surprised the whole set is so cheap. Although the bots those weapons are for are already armed.

well i plan on using the Preceptor's pistols with my Arcee,
(since the swords she comes with only wreck her thumbs.)
One of the Kup's laser pistols will go to Kup, so kup will have the option of pistol vs rifle. The other one will go to Hound, since he has no weapons, just that shoulder mounted Hologram projector.
the sniper rifle i have not decided who to give to yet.
(my classics Preceptor is using the G1 rifle instead.)

I've already mentioned this elsewhere... but it's lies, all lies. Plastic crate of decent filled with deception and packaged in a facade! I was assured by iGear themselves that this kit would be released BEFORE Feb. 28th. Release date = March 15th.

I'm starting to think nobody is getting the one I ordered, not even me!

I love the weapon case, I love the general concept they were going for with the weapons but the only guns that had any proper attention given to details are the two guns I least want out of the set. They lost me on the sniper rifle with the skimpy stock and the too-short barrel and they lost me on the smaller pistols by making them so small that they have no room for any details. The basic shape/style of them kicks ass and I suppose I could live with them since they'll be mostly covered in a figures grip anyways, but there is no way I would call that rifle a sniper rifle.
I'll give it a few days, look at the price tag and see if the set manages to grow on me a bit. I am digging that case quite a bit...we'll see.
