Came across this photo for those who are curious how Giant stacks up sizewise with Hercules. Although maybe not a true comparison since this is just Giant superimposed on Hercules. Enjoy!

if that's what the yellow Giant eventually looks like, it'll be worth the money for the folks getting it.

but unless it's a photo taken of each right next to each other, I don't believe it. I'm not claiming Giant will be bigger, or even the same size, I don't know and I'm not all that bothered which is taller, but really, I could do that with photoshop and make G1 Bumblebee look bigger than the CGI render of the Bayverse one, and have him squash Shia.

I love how we now have something similar to the "console wars" going on concerning the two 3rd Party Devastators. With two camps bitching and hating on the other for silly reasons.

I dub thee:

"Devastator Wars" or maybe "Construction Wars"

And I still like and want both, I'll just wait for the eventual G1 colours repaint of Giant.

If the first version of Giant comes out in 2011 and the green one at least 6 months later, I'm getting both and having a G1 vs G2 photo thread. This, I swear.

This was made based off pictures of both using Bruticus as the reference point. It may not be exact, but it should be very close. The only thing odd is this being posted on various sites recently as a thread of its own...this pic has been floating around out there in the various 3rd Party Devastator threads for a couple months now. Although it previously had Unicron in it as a point of reference before Herc had enough parts out there for an official measurement. I don't know if removing Unicron made it more relevant or it's been updated to be even more accurate or what...

if it is accurate size-wise, then it's clear that each version of Devastator has it's pros and its 'Cons. ;)

I personally am ok with getting Giant, as it's a pretty nice looking rendition of the character, and supposed to be a bit cheaper. I like how Hercules can see stuff past his shoulders, sort of, and that he appears to be far bigger (which is particularly important for alt modes, if you're concerned with scale at all), it'd be a bit silly with a bunch of deluxe cars next to the construction vehicles and the likes of Jazz and Tracks being longer and wider. I'm ok with the size of the robot modes though, as the Constructicons were never really portrayed as being big until they combined.

I thought TFC Hercules was going to be unicron size, which around 15 inches tall.

I assumed MT Giant was going to be AEC Leader sized,no more that 9.5 inches tall. similar in size scale to Energon superion, bruticus & Constructicon maximus.

The recent photo of size scale between giant & hercules. makes MT Giant look like a 12 inch tall gestalt. which to me seems a bit off & wrong.

i guess i'll wait for the real thing to do size comparisions.

Hercules is confirmed to be 12.5" head to toe. Giant will be about 11" head to toe.

So that is a production Giant? I really like the matte paint. Im committed to Hercules but both look sweet in their own way.

Now we just need some Stunticon action.

Now that Hercules is almost finished and not a preorder has been seen for Giant, it looks like I'll be able to budget purchasing Giant - maybe even both colors. Also depends on the prices.

BTW, 3rd parties - by "need some Stunticon action" (which I wholeheartedly agree with), we mean 1 Stunticon/Menasor set. There's probably at least 1 Gestalt set for each 3rd party group to take on without needing to overlap. :BANG_HEAD:

But theirs 6 voyagers being used in the hercules set. theirs six deluxes being used in the giant set. I would think hercules would be a size level higher than giant.

IMHO,I think the difference in height has got to be more than a mere 1.5 inches tall from head to toe in gestalt forms.

I remember seeing a pic of hercules next to either unicron or primus & he seemed like the same height & width.

I was thinking at the very least 4 to 5 inches different in height head to toe in gestalt forms.

I estimated that hercules would be supreme size scale. while giant I estimated was leader sized about 9.5 to 10 inches tall. basically similar in scale to the AEC superion, bruticus & constructicon maximus. maybe a head taller in gestalt form.

Composition has nothing to do with it. It's engineered differently. Giant is in no means a scaled down version of Hercules.

Like I said, Herc's height is confirmed. The last arm and leg isn't going to add height. Giant's height can be approximated based off pics next to a known figure in Bruticus. I can't say it's going to be exactly 11" on the nuts, but I can safely say it'll be ~11".

...and for what it's worth, I've been saying for months that the height difference of these two wasn't going to be as great as many were speculating. And that if you go by the the highest points of both figures (not counting artificial height added by the optional positioning of Ex's digger,) it's probably only about a half inch or less of difference!

I don't know; after the latest chatter going around about FansProject's return to glory, I can wait a while longer.

Return? I was unaware their glory diminished. Guess I'm too busy love my Insecticons and the Movie displays... 8)

I am kinda torn on the Giant version...on one hand...the yellow coloring strikes me as more "true-to-life", as if they were to model them off of actual construction trucks (or, EGADS, TONKA trucks even wut wut!). On the other hand...i consider myself somewhat of a "purist", especially where Bruty is concerned (he holds a special place for me), so the classic green/purple of the Herc set is a must have for me.

After my Herc set is complete (or in the interim if the release of Blender and Breaker take too long...although one has already been announced for late Jan. BOOYA), I will get the upgrade set for universe Bruticus next...I plan on avoiding Superion like the plague; his remake looks like crap(seriously, who thought all these dayglo hand pieces on the combiner sets was a good idea?!), and I actually had him as a kid...both of those tiny little square heads snapped off both of the robots who made his arms so I have repressed hate for him :-P.

If a Stunticon/Menasor set was to come out...done the RIGHT way (see "dayglo" comment above LoL), I might think about it. The thing I never liked about Menasor was how his combiner form was depicted basically as nothing but solid square blocks, with the cars kind of "pasted" onto the backs of them for decoration. Would have to see how it's molded/designed first.
