Just bring it on FP - I'm going to buy it anyway and the wait is getting tedious......

I'm a bit behind with the 3rd part stuff, are these the 'Heartmaster' figures they teased a while ago?

Meh, there's enough Devs out there now (or soon). FP wants to go after non-duplicated products.

I agree with the idea that Fansproject is intentionally waiting until after prototyping to show what's next just so they can avoid coattail riders. None of the "we're doing the Stunticons next year" until they have all 5 in working prototypes and ready to manufacture. When FP makes something, everybody else has to either beat them to it or stand aside.

I'm happy to hear something from them. They have my full attention now.

That includes Hasbro IMO. ;)

I'd imagine this also works both ways; the Stunticons have been rumoured to be in Fansproject's future for quite some time now, so I'm guessing that no one wanted to try to go toe-to-toe with them.

I'd also imagine that since third-party projects have become it must be somewhat intimidating for FP to figure out how to continue to produce game-changing products at an affordable price.

I dunno. FansProject is great at what they do, but I don't think they're any better, or even as good as Hasbro to be honest. A lot of the Classics-verse figures are much more impressive than anything FP has done. Where FP excels is giving collectors stuff Hasbro won't, or in some cases can't do (see child safety laws), but I don't think their engineering is superior. City Commander, Protector, not-Insecticons, Warbot Defender...all quality pieces to be sure, but I think what they represent is ultimately what makes them incredible, must have pieces rather than straight up design. If they were all new, made up characters with no ties to what they're meant to resemble, I don't think any of them are OMG, GREATEST THING EV! I do admit their Bruticus figs are probably the most impressive Scout figs made, but that's pretty much because they're deluxe engineered figures made in scout size. I'm sure Hasbro could do that too, but it doesn't seem to fit with their business model for whatever reason.

Exactly how much water does this Menasaur rumor hold? FP has had a few things shown to us, some dating back years ...

- Hearmaster, I think, is still on everyone's minds. They even had a prototype done.
- The Junkions
- Broadside
- Glaciarbot

Of course prototypes don't ensure a product ... still wish they followed through on their Megatron guns and Matrix from years and years back. Still, with so many designs teased are we really sure Menasaur's anything other than wishful thinking?

The Menasor rumor has the usual "insider knows" cloud to it but I don't know where it started. I emailed them about the possibility of one after the first arc of ongoing and never got a response.

Megatron & the Matrix were scuttled for being to on the nose with Hasbros trademarks. Again, when they were making Protector I sent an email about the Matrix being included but that obviously didn't happen.Broadside is rumored to still be on the table but I think the ship has sailed on their Junkions unfortunately. Never cared for Glacierbot. Too Power Rangers for me.

agreed on all points. the most impressive and detailed toy that is the highest standard in my book is still from hasbro. alternator smokescreen(for me) is that standard. highly detailed. paint apps looks great(understatement really). high quality on all levels. i wish hasbro could put as much effort into making the toys on that level....id pay whatever amount they were charging. even as good as united jazz looks....he pails in comparison next to alt smokescreen.

You gotta give it to FP for the bruticus project tho.......THAT is a masterpiece. one of the best looking bots in my collection.

Burticus is amazing, but most of it was made by Hasbro. FP can only get partial credit for that one.

It's been a decade since Alternator Smokescreen. As amazing as it was at the time, few figures from even the Alternators line measured up. I started with Binaltech and shifted to Alternators quickly because paint scratches right off diecast but when you stop to look at them, many of the Alternators would be considered failures at the deluxe scale. We were cutting them so much slack because of the hyped up mindset of the Masterpiece line. Look at Jazz for example. Alt Jazz (especially with the Reprolabels stripes) is in my opinion a Masterpiece Jazz. But it's still not a good as Classics or even Animated Jazz. But it goes great as a Masterpiece or as the keystone of a character collection. On the other hand, I also collect Swindles (if you couldn't tell from my sig ;) ) and after Munitioner, I don't think I'll ever want for a Swindle again. Great botmode, great altmode, great legmode. Spot on sculpt from his head to his feet with articulation on par with the best Hasbro has to offer. Hell, I'm still considering getting another one to display separate from Bruticus. It is the ultimate Swindle. No Hound repaint will ever come close. Not even an Alternator one.

Every year for Botcon, my sig is Vote Swindle and if he were to win, the best version of him in plastic would not be honored. That's the standard set by Hasbro.

Alpha Core FTW!

BTW, What are Crystals, and how do I ubtain them. Also, What do they do? If you collect enough, do you get to spend them on FP Products?
