Hercules: So close, yet so far!

Went to the PO to pick up Mad Blender only to find Robotkingdom had sent me a second Neck Breaker! Super frustrated right now. They're closed for CNY to boot. Just bit the bullet and pre-ordered another one from TFsource, they're supposed to have their shipment in mid-week according to their news section.

I already have an extra, now I've got three of the damn things! Two at home and one in POL at BBTS!

That sucks! Here's hoping they don't mess mine up! I actually caught the mail carrier today thanks to a snow day and pre-signed my slip so they'll just leave my last fig at the door so I don't have to wait the extra day to pick up from the PO.

How are you handling the HL hip fix, El Duque?

Can't you remove the one from your POL, or have you shipped that already?

I'm just holding the replacement pieces in reserve for the moment. My original Heavy Labor seems to be holding up just fine, so I'm taking the "if it ain't broke don't fix it" approach.

That actually just occurred to me as well. Went into my POL and canceled the Neck Breaker that was in there which gave me store credit that will pay for Mad Blender when he arrives. Now to impatiently wait for TFsource to get their shipment.

FYI, I took my replacement hips apart to swap in my shaved tabs and saw that the gears were only half lubed...I could see the unlubed half grinding to crap if not addressed. I'd suggest looking yours over before just swapping in the replacement.

Damn!

Okay, let's "pretend" that I don't know a thing about lube ... what product exactly should I be going out to buy to lube this up myself?

From what I've gathered, it's best to go to a hobby store and get a plastic safe grease lubricant. Although the stuff I bought was pretty dark and could potentially stain (was called Moly Grease)??? But does it even matter if it's all inside? They did have some white stuff that said non-staining, too, though...but I didn't know what the hell I was dealing with so I had no idea what to look out for.

Anyhow, it looked like the stuff TFC used was just petroleum or pure Vaseline. I've heard mixed reviews on using petroleum, but I bet it'd be fine. I opted to play it safe, though. Just wish I woulda grabbed the white, non-staining lube.

You can always put your extra on crave or ebay. :D
