It looks as though third-party toy makers X-Transbots may be tackling a figure fans have been begging for since the first Tranformers live action movie, a Leader Class sized Blackout. They have updated their
weibo page with prototype images of the figure in robot mode along with his minion Scorponok. No vehicle mode images except for a concept sketch. Images mirrored below.
Update: just a custom they were sharing.

NOOO!!!
If they do this..Then the ONLY WAY i'll be able to get it, is to pay 3rd party prices!

Why you let this happen Hasbro?

And the worst part is, It looks AMAZING! Oh to have enough disposable income to afford 3rd party toys...ramble...ramble...

Man I know A LOT of people are going to be excited about this. I know it is very early on, but those legs do not appear big enough for ratchet hinges. I'm not sure screws are going to be enough resistance to keep this big guy upright. So far, looking good.

Interesting, but I'm not getting my hopes up. So far these guys have only managed to deliver KOs of stuff with OKish quality. I'm going to wait with my praises till I see a review of this guy, if it's ever getting made.

i am a little concerend over how it looks. it seems to me to be just an enlarged version of the copy righted figure. I just hope they are able to make the figure different enough yet simalar enough to not get in trouble if it does fall into copy righted terratory.

So what were some of the issues that the 1st Blackout had? What improvements do you think could be made this time around?

Copyrights? Intellectual Property? Things of this nature matter not to 3rd parties. Ever heard of iGear?

Uhm, this looks like crap. Besides the head, it looks like its made out of hard cardboard, or plastic slivers. Not interested at all. Now if they made a head replacement for Voyager movie blackout...

To everyone complaining that it looks horrible, keep in mind that it's a VERY rough prototype (any rougher and it would be a pile of plastic limbs and Pave Low parts). At this point it looks like they just sorted out the transformation sequence. Give it some time, it'll look a lot better later on. Heck, I've seen iGear prototypes that looked way worse, and turned out great.

Oh wow that thing looks hideous. Someone get it a cheeseburger STAT! Hasbro would do so much better for a lot cheaper.

The design of those legs doesn't fill me with much confidence.
If I'm going to be honest I'm simply not a fan of X-Transbot. Their figures may indeed have the quality, but the overall designs just look a little rough and simple.

As one of the big boys from the movie trilogy, he never received a Leader size class. Brawl, Meg's, Optimus, Starscream, Ironhide, even Bumblebee (like a thousand times over) received a scaled up version. A lot of people were hoping for a big version from Has/Tak.
It's more about the size than the character....

Havent you heard ??? 3rd parties are the new Hasbro.
Hasbro is nothing more than an afterthought to most serious collectors. Yes we will still buy their figures if they make nice ones. But most of us could care less since we know somebody else will get the job done. The fans offically "own" Transformers in 2012. All Hasbro owns is some sheets of paper.
