alt mode, and some of the robot mode make it look like WWI Grimlock, but we've heard somewhere from someone that it might be a version of Optimus Prime.

It's only a rumour that it might also be The Hulk.

I think someone also speculated that it was IDW Fallen or something like that.

You've got your wired a little crossed. First of all, the only version of the Fallen IDW ever did was ROTF. And secondly, it's Maketoys still unnamed Duocon that is going to be Dreamwave's original version of the Fallen.

Hope that clears things up a bit.

On topic, while I do like the "okay, who is it?" aspect to the Heartmaster, ultimately I probably will be passing on it. I have virtually everything they've put out but it just doesn't appeal to me. The only Powermasters I've ever cared about are Optimus Prime, Doubledealer and Overlord. If it's not any of them, someone else can have mine.

Powermaster OP? Sounds like that could be it. Or, it could be just some random character we havn't thought of yet.
Off topic a bit. I wish hasbro would hire some of these third party companies. Imagine, getting these designs on the mass produced hasbro price and quality level? I Want to go up to target and buy City Commander! they would have to make him around like, $35.00 for it to work, but that's a helluva lot cheaper than what he currently goes for! Imagine being able to buy all those maketoy voyager constructicons from wal mart? I think it's a good idea.

thing is, third party companies selling stuff direct to adult consumers using the internet have less specific rules about what they are and are not allowed to do compared to Hasbro products that sit on shelves in toy shops where little kids are meant to look at them and get all excited and bug their parents.

also, whilst a lot of the cost of a 3rd party product is simply down to the numbers made being far lower than those of an official product, Hasbro's stuff is likely all made to a far more stringent budget which is shared across the line/wave, which is why if you're getting a couple new molds in a wave, you'll usually see a repaint (or a straight repack) or two or 6 along with them.

yes, I'd love to be able to pick up things the style and quality of some of my favourite third party offerings for a fraction of the price at a local store whenever I want, but there are a lot more factors involved than simply hiring the guys that made one thing. Hasbro/TakaraTomy's designers are probably quite capable of designing something better than FPs Bruticus or City Commander, or TFCs Hercules. What's less likely is that they'd be able to do so to the budget given to toys that need to sell for £15, or that they'd pass all the safety tests.

I am still anxiously waiting for this figure, myself. I am trying to reach Fansproject now, for a status update on the figure. It's way to beautiful to let go.

It's coming, sooner rather than later. He will be awesome.

And no, I do not know a specific date.

Yeah, looks to be Heartmaster painted and hopefully production ready. The door to the cockpit is apparently going to be clear. In the photo, it's open but you can see through it to the grille with the slots on either side of it-seen here in picture 6: http://fansprojectcore.com/content/new- ... ter-images

Is Fansproject ready to return to the 3rd party scene? After a lengthy silence, they have release a teaser photo on their facebook page of what looks to be a painted and possibly production ready version of their upcoming Heartmaster figure. It is still not clear what specific character the Heartmaster represents but looks to be a homage to the powermaster gimmick.

The image which shows they have added a clear cockpit has been mirrored below.

It's wrong how just the sight of "FansProject" in the title of a news article made me squeal like a girl and made a mess of the keyboard.

After all this waiting, they're still going to tease us??!! Evil. Just evil. :D

The colours are looking distinctly Magnus. I admit I did not see that one coming.

Those definitely aren't Grimlock colors, so it has to be a different Heartmaster than the WWII Grimlock they showed.

Nevertheless, it's nice to have Fansproject back, those guys are cool. :D

What scares me a little is that there may be some sort of trailer add-on later, especially if the leaning away from a WWI Grimlock color scheme. Doubtful, but it could happen-meaning I would HAVE to buy it too.

In any case, hope they show more in Singapore in a few weeks! (fingers crossed)

These guys have set the bar on what a 3rd party company is as far as the quality, aesthetics, and overall customer satisfaction and for that I will forever be a customer!!! :APPLAUSE: :APPLAUSE:

Gotta agree there.

unless it's a homage to an existing canon TF, I'm not interested

If it were anyone but Fansprojects, this would be an easy pass for me. He's not even a real character ... at least, as far as we can tell.

It may yet prove to be true, but they take YEARS to make a figure.

I suspect they're saving the big surprises for times closer to events like CybertronCon or BotCon. If this indeed Heartmaster, we've known about this for well over a year.

It's the same one. Here's how we know;

- Image

I know there's some similarities to War Within Grimlock (as well as Prime) (the smoke stacks), but it's easier to come to the conclusion this may not be based on any one particular Transformer. Especially considering Grimlock never had a Powermaster form to begin with.

Also, the designs are really not that similar (WW Grimmy and this "Heart Master"). At least from my view.

More for me.

Good, if he isn't! I guess I'm really the only person who doesn't want 30 versions over 20 years of the same 10 or so characters.

This is a question to anyone who thinks highly of Fansproject (I know I do):

What if this is NOT a homage? Let that gestate...1...2...3...and

What if Fansproject feels they are now ready to move their storyline out of existing canon and into their own universe. The crystal thing at fanspjectcore.com would indicate an original story biulding. A story filled with new characters. FP Characters. Would we still be fans of Transforming toys that are not... Transformers?
