Might be an old topic, but I wondered if anyone knows how bad/good the clear protector armor would look on the bright red RTS Rodimus?

Really want to get the Protector Armor, but don't want to over pay for the original???

although its meant for the sons of cybertron set (the classics one not animated) it does work not great but it does work. if i get the chance ill dig the armor out and post a pic unless someone beats me to it

From what I know, due to the crystal set being more color matched to the sons of cybertron Rodimus, the color is a bit darker than the original, and even the original barely comes close to matching the RTS Rodimus. That said, if it's your cheapest option and you really want it then you may as well go ahead.

I'd pony up the extra and get the original release... It's still available at acestoystore.com for $110.

A friend of mine got it to put the BiS set Rodimus in it to be like he was in mid-reformatting to Prime. He was not satisfied with the results. He did shot it to me in person and it looked like crap but unfortunately, seeing it IRL means I don't have a saved pic to post. Sorry.

That video answers my question, doesn't look the clear armor works.... robot mode isn't that, but vehicle mode is a travesty.

I'm actually kind of disappointed that this (or the Protector set in general) hasn't been KOed yet. I have a couple of custom ideas that I need this for but I don't want to destroy an original, you know?
