Robotkingdom Update: DW-P05 Eyesight Pre-Orders Open & KO Review and Comparison

Robotkingdom dropped by with an update on a couple of third-party items.
First up, the pre-orders for Dr. Wu's DW-P05 Eyesight are now open. These LED light pods are designed to compliment the TFC Toys Hercules team. They come in
black or
green and are priced individually at $5.90.

Next we have a review of the KO MakeToys Battle Tanker with comparison to the real deal.

Despite the above difference, it is very hard to distinguish original and KO version from the photo. The material used is almost the same.
If you think the original one is too expensive, or you need one more for modification, the KO version is perfect for you.

Unless people are turned off by the head issues, it looks like they gave everyone an excuse to jump on this piece of crap. Oh well, I've already made my investments into maketoys and if no one else will then screw em!

Wow the head looks stupid. But if the quality of the plastic really is almost as the original, it will be on par with the plastic used with the RTS Prime, the plastic MakeToys uses is great, so far it feels a lot like the the kind used during the Unicron Trilogy line.

Damn looks just as good as the original. (which I bought) I wish I had known about the KO, I would have waited and had fifty bucks extra in my pocket. The only difference seems to be the swords which is no big deal.
Let it be known on the original Maketoy version, the sword lights up by itself when the switch is off. (very dim but on at half power) Not sure if anyone else had this problem. I had to leave the battery out.

Looks like the details on the Ancient Sword blade are washed out .... but it seems to be a good alternative for those who can't afford the real one. Which is sad since people should support Maketoy if they want 'em to make more toys.
I still wonder if this head breaks RTS/United Prime like the original MT one did. I's think that would be mentioned, though (and the head did get a remold which makes me think it did get adjusted).

I may not like the Hercules in general but that Eyesight thing is really cool. I'll have to tell my friend that has Herc about it!
I'm both glad and saddened by the high quality of the KO Battle Tanker. I ordered it to make Scourge out of but I was hoping there would be more noticeable differences. Somebody probably already has bought the KO thinking it was the original by this point. I do plan on getting the real Tanker for my ever growing G2 collection eventually by now I'm really going to have to limit myself to BBTS and TFSource just to be on the safe side!
I do like that Robotkingdom specifically said it was a good option for customizers. Almost nothing is geared toward the creative sides of the hobby!

I don't really get them pimping out the KO Battle Tanker like this. I don't recall them even selling any of the KO city commander sets or other recent KO 3P pieces. Pretty sh!tty in my book.

I really don't like KOs simply because I'm worried that I'll end up getting one when I think I'm ordering the genuine thing. At least I now know what to look out for.
Not sure what to make of the light for Hercules. It's a good idea and it's cheap enough, just not all that necessary.

I don't think it's pimping it, I think it's just a heads up to the differences to both inform and show that they're not selling a crap product. They may not have sold the City Commander KO but if they already deal with the makers of this, why would they not? And it's not like the same people made this and the CC KO or anything. I think it was more useful than anything.
Then again, that's coming from a guy who already bought it.

Well, was wondering how I could make my Hercules Rage face light up like I've seen others do...and this does it.
Think these will be sold at BBTS or no? I checked the sites companies that they sell and didn't see Dr Wu on there.

Before this, the only picture of it was the red plastic prototype. I would both boost sales if they were slow and put them in a positive light for pointing out the differences between the two to prevent people from being tricked.
As for the green Giant, they probably haven't gotten any real information themselves yet.

I wouldn't mind snagging a KO version for the inevitable black repaint of RtS G2 Prime. I would imagine Reprolabels would also release a chrome sticker set for Battle Tanker when that repaint finally happens.
