Question about a Blue KO Classics Optimus Prime

There's a listing on ebay for a Blue KO/3rd party Classics OP. I'm just wondering if anyone knows anything about the manufacturer(s), the quality of the item, and if it's even worth buying as a shelf-piece.

Thanks for the help!

The Classics KOs in general are hit and miss on QC. Two people will order the same thing and one will say the product is Hasbro quality and the other will have loose joints and not hold together. More people seem to get the good ones though. If you've got a Powered Commander set (real or not), it's a must have either way!

i think he wants a proper answer not just a short none explained one

when it comes to the ko classic primes AVOID these ones

http://chimungmung.com/product_info.php ... b35b7eac66

this review even shows why you avoid the crappy ko

http://plasticaddiction.tumblr.com/post ... ure-review

theres another BLACK version you should avoid

you should also avoid the KOLD GOLD version as this was done before chms made there version of prime. Basically kotoys took these crappy ko version and had it sprayed gold chrome. Now the plastic is poor and always breaks so unless you plan to get that for display and never transform it.....dont touch it

those were the 1st run kos by a random chinese ko company

CHMS later did there version of classics prime and made these which are fantastic quality

Botcon shattered glass prime (the purple one)
Botcon double shattered glass prime (purple one but with more damage)
botcon unshattered glass prime (purple but with no broken glass)
Diacone blue prime (a blue diaclone version)
clear henkei optimus prime (a transparent version)
wonderfest prime (the cancelled wonderfest version)
clear black optimus (the wonderfest one but transparent)

all of those are fantastic and 99% of the time there just as perfect as the offical.
The only problem you ALWAYS get with these is that the factory makes the black gun wrong. They always put the two bits at the bottom the wrong way around, you can fix this yourself but its annoying

you may get slight issues like loose arms or legs but its nothing a screw driver wont fix

From looking around, I'm going to guess that it's KOLD Blue Konvoy. So is it worth going for? I know you said the KOLD GOLD one is awful, does that apply to the Blue as well?

when i said KOLD GOLD i mean the GOLD colored chrome version

if you go for the blue diaclone version then its gona be just like the offical hasbro prime only that your gona need to sort the x2 black gun bits and swap them in the correct parts

maybe need to tighten some joints with a screw driver - MAYBE

go for the blue diaclone prime tho hes fantastic, deffo 1 of my favs in my collection

That's the kind of definite answer I wanted to hear, thanks! I did see a review that mentioned the floppy joints, but that's nothing a few screwdrivers can't fix. :)

I was thinking about picking one of them to sub as Ultra Magnus (in Commander gear) until I saw they were $50 plus $15 shipping.

Guess Ill have to continue trolling ebay and craigslist

Does anyone still make a halfway decent UM knockoff?

Gotta admit, this KO has been on my list for a while. I'm not usually one for KOs, but when they provide something new I don't mind them as much.

Shoot me a PM as I might be interested. Still on the fence on getting one to sub as UM. Starting to think I may just need to buck up and buy one on ebay.

I have one. It's a little loose in the joints, but I like it. I'm likely to get another at some point to display in vehicle mode.

I like to think of his as Shattered Glass Nemesis Prime. ;D
