It appears iGear is inching ever closer to finally releasing their much delayed unofficial versions of Ironhide and Ratchet, PP05W-Weapons Specialist and PP05M-Medical Specialist. They posted the unpainted test shots mirrored below to their facebook page.

Very nice. I can't wait to see the finals. While they're at it, a size comparison would be nice to.

Looking at this guy compared to Universe Ratchet / Ironhide..... ummmm...

These guys in my opinion win from the waist up. Very cool and well done. However from the waist down...... lack of detial I feel. Universe wins there.

Don't get me wrong, very cool for 3rd pary. And this is what G-1 should have looked like for sure. But the legs just have serious lack of detial. I like them, but not going to spend the money on them.

I was really concerned that these guys wouldn't make the previously announced 4/15 deadline. iGear's store has been updated to 5/1, but I'm not hopeful of this date.

Are you basing "lack of detail" on unpainted models? Because the molding itself looks to have substantial detailing.

Add in the arsenal of weapons they come with, I'm psyched about getting these... hopefully by year's end.

not on unpainted....on "lack of detail" the legs are just the rear un-hinged. Perhaps there is more to is, and I would hope so as they come along, but the waist down is just............ blah.

They went way above and beyond on the waist up, just wish/hope the waist down gets more attention or there not done with it. Paint isn't going to help the waist down if that is all that is missing.

For comparison to MP-10 Prime and iGear's Spray: new-test-shot-images-and-video-of-igear-s-pp05-t83199.php

There's another shot somewhere on this board of these guys next to Classics Optimus, they are about the same size. Fudge it, here's one.

Early test shots had them compared to Classics Optimus Prime.
They were listed at 7" tall.

A set of later shots put Ironhide standing next to MP10.

They looked pretty good together. IMO, I could justify the size against a Faith Leader a little better, but, either could work just fine to me :)

I just hope they are not having QC issues. The release delay after so many prototype images over the last 6+ months of teasing does give rise to that concern. I just hope the delay has for ensuring quality in the product design!

Thanks for the clarification, I see your concern now. I don't think you're seeing it wrong, the pictures aren't indicative of any further detail or technology involved with the process. I don't have any issues with it.

:D Wow, pretty impressive. I was SO dissapointed with the design of the G1 originals that I never bothered getting them. I mean, I have them now of course but back then I didn't bother getting them because they were so ugly and useless playability wise in my opinion. Oh if only I could go back in time and tell myself that there is hope in the future, you will get your screen accurate Iron Hide and Ratchet....you'll just be too old to play with them LOL (Nah, with THOSE gadgets I'll have to atleast bust a few Deceptichops!) :BOT:

I think there is more detail in the legs than you might expect. You will need search for previous pictures. The legs have a bit of transformation to them and there is a ot of detail on the inside of the legs (gears, cogs, and pistons)

if you watch the preview vid, it takes the demonstrator nearly 2 minutes to transform the legs. Admittedly, he is going a little slower to show off the transformation sequence but there is more to the back legs than it seems. I actually love the way it fully transforms. It is like a mini Masterpiece with all the steps. Get them out iGear, I paid, now I want them.
