I would just like to point out...(because this is a big issue for me as well) to the people who are bringing up the size argument of wanting their other combiners to be in-line with FP Bruticus or Superion...that there are already tentative plans for more combiners from FP and other 3rd parties that will presumably be on scale with Herc.

So you could end up with one half of your Gestalt collection being "FP size" and one half of your collection being "Herc Sized". The only way to stay with one or the other is to choose now and stick to it...unfortunately this leaves the unfortunate possiblity of missing out on a few important pieces of your collection, or focing yourself to forego a new figure you would otherwise want to get.

FOr instance, if you want to go with the current "FP size" collection, so you skip Herc and get Giant instead...and then six months from now someone puts out a Herc size Bruty that you just start to drool over. Or, you want to stick with the Herc-size sets...and alot of the 3rd party companies stay on the trend of FP-size sets...leaving you with a gigantic Devy that fits in with none of your other Gestalts scale-wise.

Oh, the drama...

Argh. $355 is a hefty chunk of money, but breaking down the cost per bot it's fairly reasonable. Time to start saving... #-o I guess if I save some cash now my credit card can take the rest of the hit when it comes out.

While I agree it makes sense to prefer Devastator in green, this set to me just looks better in yellow and black. Plus I grew up with re-runs of G2 on tape, so I suppose it should also mean something to me for that reason.

Edit: I still have no idea why the crane is displayed that way on the green Giant's display image. Maybe the person taking the pictures wanted to give a nod to the movies... *shudder*

Good catch on the stripes. I wonder why they went with Red/White/Black.

I am still trying to figure out how they did that with the crane. I wasn't aware the crane is jointed and able to bend 90 degrees. I was asumming it was Photoshopped in.

I cannot actually picture that happening. I doubt anyone would have the pockets or the shelf space for such a thing. At least I can admire TFC's bravery, as I do not think any other 3rd party company would be willing to do something so risky. Devastator is just kind of special though, the definitive combining transformer, perhaps the only combiner worth the risk. A number of people have had to sell off some of their Transformers collection to get it, I'm not sure how many would be willing to do so twice.

I could be wrong... usually am. But you know what?

The theoretical FP Menasor would be in scale with the Superion and Bruticus as will be the Maketoys Computron. The only company (so fair as we know) making anything on Hercs scale is TFC themselves.

Thanks for posting that comparison Daimchoc!

That upper body on Giant looks real good. Great idea using a Hot Toys stand!

It's not mine. It's actually from a member from ACToys. I'll get my set B by next weekend. ;)

It's nice to see the comparison. Once I get mine completed, I'll definitely post some pics. :D

I just can't get behind this guy, even though I'm liking the green.

The arm kibble (AKA the entire vehicle) really irks me; that shoulder girth just kills the Devy look, as does the lack of head (or at least the lack of its visibility).

If BBTS has another 25% off sale on 3rd Party toys, I think I can justify it. It's how I justified FP Flameblast and Warcry

Kudos to all of you who have already made the plunge  ; he should be super fun :CON:

This is going to sell out. It's not going to just sit around like two neutered repaint homages to Micromasters did. This is Devastator and even the G2 yellow one isn't going to be available long.

I still have to pay for the second set but the first in in my POL at BBTS. I'm actually forgoing all of the Prime toys and most of this years Botcon set just to justify how much these things cost but they're so worth it! Seriously, I'm only getting Cyberverse Ultra Magnus until the FOC figures come out.

Thanks for the comparison pics Daimchoc. Really reinforces for that I chose correctly for my collection.

Everyone please note(as I don't want to reignite the argument), that I am NOT saying one set is intrinsically better than the others, just that I feel Giant will fit how I want MY collection to look, which should be all that's important if making a choice between the two.

I've preordered Giant and will probably pick up Hercules if it ever shows up at something of a discount. But I simply love the fact that I have two to choose from and neither of them is this:

yeah, thanks for sharing those pics. unfortunately, unlike Midnight_Fox, seeing the comparisons just make me that much more conflicted. There are some bits I like much better on Herc, and some I like much better on Giant. :BOOM:
