Also notice that FPC doesn't update their site that often huh? they don't even cover any of the news about their future projects on the news section of their site..

Any pictures out there showing this feature off? I managed to get one stance stable, but it doesn't look like a natural pose.

Actually... I've been playing with a lot of poses using the toe joints... they're really quite fun & dynamic. This guy's just so effing stable it's awesome... Defender's inability to hold himself up really ruined the toy for me.

Steel Core's lack of wrist articulation doesn't bother me... I didn't even notice actually. Even if they were able to rotate, they wouldn't be able to move when he's holding his gun.

I'm not sure what the protocol SHOULD be, but if you notice that 3P homepages are usually pretty barren when it comes to "news". Only recently have we seen some sites, like Maketoy or X-Transbots, update their actual sites with future/planned product information. FPC did give us early looks at Assaulter, to be fair. Also, some of what was recently announced at TFCon (Deluxe Insecticons, Stunticons) was a secret and they were waiting for that convention to release news. It hasn't been a full week since the event ended, but they could definitely add these updates to FPC site and maybe some different prototype shots in the near future.

One point of contention with 3Ps is that their information "hub" is so fragmented. They utilize their own websites, as well as various social media, but usually not a consolidated look at their products. Also, it's not always the same information. It's especially frustrating when these groups use social sites requiring login, like Facebook or Weibo. Thankfully, there's usually a mod or other poster who will mirror the images.

If anything, I believe most 3Ps should review their process of self-promotion, because it seems we get the majority of our news from fan sites and not 3P "official" outlets.

I must not be trying hard enough or using my creativity. I'll have to revisit this later.

Good points about not being able to hold the weapons. Looking back, it seems that the only feasible option would've been a ball-joint at the wrist to allow for some more posing and still holding a weapon. I had envisioned a swivel instead, but didn't take into consideration that his fist might be too big to turn with that forearm guard in the way.

Like I said, these cons don't change my mind about the figure but may have added a bit more value.

Glad to hear they're working on making/getting more of these. I really want to pick one up.

Not to mention, they need to move quickly: I'm sure someone's working on a KO as I write this.

Order 402, still pending at this point. Don't care if it's late, as long as it comes! Considering my rotten experiences preordering with iGear and through Robotkingdom, I don't always trust preorders...

Luckily I never had to experience iGear but rather hear about the nightmares folks went through there. I know I was order 126 and a couple of my buddies were in the mid 200's so Im sure there getting to the middle of their shipping list soon. Have faith and remember it's Fansproject, they are the best 3rd party company in the game right..at least imo :P

Yeah, really. I kinda got bummed out about the Energon Ultra Magnus likeness that was shown at TFCon. See I really like the figure it homages and would have liked to have gotten that instead of sort of blindly buying into a Warbot who really didn't homage anyone. I don't dislike what we got. I simply think that if that was the plan all along, why not put that foot forward? I have faith that FPC will do something along the same lines as the City Commander kit they did. That's great. I look forward to it. If they put the mold out in red as Overload, that would be even better IMO. It would be a character I don't already have a Classics homage of. It just sort of feels like we got jerked around to me. Even if that's just my opinion. I really hope everyone is satisfied with theirs.

Yeah... that's a common view I can see where it's coming from. I guess I'm just in a different spot. I couldn't care less about homages to TF characters, I just like cool-looking transforming toys. I'm a huge fan of the Fansproject aesthetic & I'd be thrilled if they eventually get away from the Transformers brand a bit more & did their own thing, I'd love to see them succeed with their own brand and stop being a 3rd Party TF company... but I realize I'm the minority on that one.

Once you get around to taking Steelcore out & playing with him though, I'm sure you'll be extremely pleased... he's truly an incredible work of art.

Venksta wrote:To clear up this confusion about Steel Core's run. They made a big run, more than 800. I would say a couple thousand based on previous releases. Fans Project Core.com secured 800 pieces from that run, to sell early and directly to fans. That means from the original run for Steel Core, there is a lot more units sitting around in a warehouse, waiting to be released.

So in a nutshell, if you missed out, theres more SteelCores to be released either through retailers or Fans Project Core.com. Their probably just waiting for the preorders from FPCore.com to finish shipping out first. So just be patient and you'll get your chance to order it again if you missed out.
