With KOtoys out of the picture, all we got left are a few sites showing off very few cheap bootleg , imitation TF toys.

I will not call 3rd party add ons or their original designs as bootlegs. To me bootlegs are cheap copy of an original toy. These types are usually found in dollar thrift stores or at flea markets. They are easily breakable, usually upsized or downsized and often simplified. Paint job, color schemes , well sometimes - too funky.

I figured, why not start a thread just to show notable real bootleg toys currently available in the flea markets in the different parts of the world. No selling of course. Just sightings.

I love having a good route around in charity shops, pound stores, car boot sales and websites for a good knock off Transformer!
They are great ways to complete or repair that damaged classic or fill in the odd gap on your shelf.

Whilst visiting my friend in Northampton (UK) I stuck my head in a cheap store and found a very flimsy orange Voltron style KO. He got binned!
Not into Voltron but the weapons which came with is what drew me to spending a quid.
A BFG in black plastic for my Classics Cliffjumper (you know the one) and a large sabre/sword which size wise fits in with Alternators or Voyagers (currently being weilded by Classics Jetfire! I will try and add a couple of pictures in a re-edit later?

I have my eye on one of those AlterationMan Nemesis Prime figures via Chimungmung which has more of a tradional Alternator packaging but also comes with the gastank/blaster upgrade!

Great idea for a thread which could help all us fans of transforming alien robots track down an affordable alternative and with the aid of private messaging no actual links need be posted!

Red Alert is thinking about selling his blue BFG to Soundwave! Bumblebee kicks around the idea of becoming Bumblejumper? Comettor looks on anxiously!


Really liking my Roadbuster standing Ultra/Voyager/Alternator sized along side Alternator Mirage with a head swap from a white Alternator Hound KO. They pop on easy between each other!
Voyager Jetfire denies everything whilst RID Optimus Prime grabs the KO God Sword like a girl!

Its been a long time since I updated this thread. Its because its been a long time also no new things that pop out at the flea market. That was, until this week.

side by side size comparison with the original one:

KO Power Rangers Pirate Armada Zords. Its junior sized (2/3rds size of the original toys)which is about a TF leader class sized. Seems to retain the original parts formers abilities. Also known as Kaizoku Sentai Gokaiger. These were the Sentai group for 2012. I'm not familiar with how many combos for their Zords this series has. Seems complete for me. Cost per figure --> around $8USD.
