Peaugh's twitter account we get a look at the prototype version of FansProject's prototype head and and chest for a future repaint/retool of Steelcore. It appears these will give the figure a very Armada Overload vibe. Check it out below.

Hmm. It'll be interesting to see how the little guy will be integrated in vehicle mode. The head looks like it's been ripped straight off the original Armada figure. I'm just happy I'll be able to get hold of this mold.

I don't even have Steelcore in hand yet and you can sign me up for this! That mold looks great in this colors and I like that head sculpt more than the one on Steelcore.

Is this an upgrade for the existing steel core or a retooled new figure? If it's an upgrade then I am cool with it, but if it's a retooled figure shame on you Fansproject. Way to crap on your customers before most of them actually have the original figure in hand.
I waited on ordering this figure because of it's lack of TF homage but in the end gave in because it's fansproject.

I'm in if they do a Sentinel Maximus repaint/retool. I never could bring myself to buy the exclusive one because (in my opinion) that mold sucks (parts-forming brick with horrible proportions and articulation).

Crap on them? We knew steel core was a limited first release. I have him and I'm super stoked for this Overload homage.

Yup it's a **** move. I just figured they would just repaint it for the future but actually turning him from a non Transformers homage into a Transormers homage? Steelcore will probably be sold as soon as I get him.

Colour me slightly interested. I have steel core, but he's not doing a lot for me at the moment. I'm holding on to him though in case other things come that will enhance him.

So by that logic PE's Shadow Warriors and the two birds were **** releases too. I don't think you're thinking this one through man. They took an original character, sold it, and then turned it into a loose homage for those complaining about their originality.
What I'm trying to say, I guess, is that I can't be upset for them trying to make $$ or milk a mold. Because if I was, I'd be mad at Perfect Effect, Hasbro, and well, everybody.

I just hope their future/upcoming releases don't require membership in FansProject Core and that they can actually be purchased at shops like BBTS.

While I agree, I gotta say I have was happy with my purchase through FansProject Core. They take PayPal and managed to ship Steelcore out ahead of schedule. My only complaint is their lack of shipping notice and tracking number.

My only complaint was the flat-rate shipping which was a major screw-job to anyone, but international buyers in particular.

I really dig the Overload homage. I'd love to see it in Overload's red colors instead of his Ultra Magnus redeco colors. I'd most likely buy that.

Technically, it's an Energon Ultra Magnus homage. It'll look even better with Steel Cores trailer.

They will be using other retailers in the future. Steelcore was there own in house exclusive, much like G2 Bruticus is an Amazon/BBTS exclusive.
Lots coming out in Sept, Oct, Nov! Pre-orders go live very soon!

The only thing that stopped me from getting Steelcore was I thought I was moving at the time so this Energon Ultra Magnus version is more than enough for me!

I have interest in this version.
I hope we see some trailers before I make the commitment though.
I can picture a Nova Prime from this ... that I'd shell out for.

As per Venksta:
STEEL CORE "MAGNUM" UPGRADE CLARIFICATION
I wanted to clarify about the "upgrade" part shown for Steel Core.
First off, there is only one version of Steel Core, which is now shipping for preorders out to fans who ordered from FansprojectCore. There is no other version, and there will be no repaints. That is a fact that I can confirm.
Also, Steel Core was always intended to be an original character. He was never designed as a homage. If so, and it was to be Armada Overload/Energon Ultra Magnus, the mini guy would transform into a truck already.
The parts shown on Sunday are a mockup for an idea I had. Like the rest of you, I did see the similarities to Energon Ultra Magnus when Steel Core's colors were revealed. So when I got the toy in hand, I thought about making new parts to complete the unintended homage, by myself. I whipped up the mockup parts the day before I came out to TFCon. Fansproject did not even know about the parts until I showed them on Friday night.
Right now, FansprojectCore wants to release this as an exclusive through their website. One of my main reasons for making it was to test an upcoming feature on FansprojectCore.com with it. I'm mentioned before there are alot of features that have not been launched yet. My upgrade will be one of the first projects to take advantage of it, allowing for interaction from everyone else. I can't get into the specifics yet.
So in a nutshell, this upgrade is meant to be a kit for some future release, and Steel Core only has one version planned for life. No remold or repaint.

Funny... he cleverly avoided the word "re-release"...

There will be a future re-release, but it won't be re-colored or re-molded.

Guess the rumors about a green / orange / red version are squashed now then too. If that's the case then... what about those other two Core bots in red and yellow shown in the comic?

I'd love an Overload repaint... and/or Roadbuster.
