Completely effed my bank account by coming in but I'm happy he's in. I'll hit ship once my check clears tonight. Don't need any more overdraft fees. Blarg, sometimes I do really dumb things.

Yay, good news! Gonna try to wait until the Hercules add-on kit comes in before sending off.

Does anyone know if Maketoys plans to do a reissue of their Green Giant. Perhaps a few fans or distributors can contact Maketoys. promise them a certain amount of pre-orders to make it worth the production.

I don't think they need to yet. Several etailers still have him instock. ToyArena for example.

BBTS was selling Green giant for around $330 when it first came out.
I don't feel comfortable paying $499,a 40% mark up in price at the toyarena site. Does anyone know of any other USA sites selling sealed green giant for under $370? That toyarena price is high,I could score a slightly lower price on ebay. If I had to pay $500,I'd get hercules which is bigger & more durable.

As of right now, eBay and ToyArena are the only two US options. All others are foreign and will require expensive shipping.

As for Hercules being more durable, that's not entirely true. The connection points (using the same design as Hasbro Energon combiners) tend to wear out, Long Haul needed hip or knee replacements, plus there's something wrong with a gear on Hook's crane, among others. Not to mention, you'll need The Rage Of Hercules set to have it fully completed.

Giant's Long Haul had one problem with the shoulders and they were addressed. All other parts are solid and well made. I'm not sure who gave you the impression that Hercules was sturdier, but it's just not true.

I will be fair in this: The plastic on Giant is slightly thinner, and it's Masterpiece quality rather than play quality. Although, you can play with it.

The connection points on my Herc are as solid now as ever, and I've dismantled and combined him many times over the years.

Long Haul's hips get the replacement part with one of the other figures (can't remember which), same with Scavenger's replacement part.

Nothing wrong with my Hook either. All the joints and gears on all six figures are as tight now as when I got them.

Finally, the Rage of Herc kit is not required for completion, it is just for those who want a more G1 look. Herc looks fantastic without it IMO.

Yeah, the Rage upgrade kit is not needed. He's fine as-is without it.

Agreed. I have it, but only for the shoulder extenders.

Same here. Those shoulder extensions were all I used and I still use the treads as the forearms because I like that look much better.

TFSource still has Green Giant instock as well but he's $495 unfortunately.

I'd recommend keeping an eye on ToyArena. They sometimes drop their prices on expensive items if they can't get rid of the stock, even on things that can't be found for nearly as cheap elsewhere (reference Big Convoy as an example. You can find him on ebay for around the same price, but he's usually loose or the shipping is high because he's coming from another country). In fact, for the longest time they were one of the few to still have Henkei Convoy (Optimus Prime) instock in abundance and they kept their price the same ($69.99) even though his aftermarket price was $100+. That's how I ended up with like 5 or 6 of him (for the sake of all the various add-on kits/armor upgrades etc.).
