I am seriously considering these guys.
I have no attachment to their previous incarnations, they just look amazing.

The size on these guys is basically exactly what I was hoping for.

Darn you, Optibotimus. Darn you to heck! I ended up pulling the trigger on this and Grindrod. I was already getting Hardbone. I suppose if I'm not going to go with Genesis, I can splurge on some of the others. I wasn't a big fan of the Throttlebots. (Goldbug, because he feels like a new gold bug? Sheesh that was some lazy writing.) But these do look fantastic. We'll see what the Gestalt looks like, but that's not even important to me any more.

They look like new photos to me. Not sure if folks have commented - I like how Searchlight's robot mode has the searchlights on his shoulders. I realize that the car does not pay homage and the alt mode is lacking the searchligts, but the fact that they were able to sneak the searchlight homage in there is cool.

Yeah, they look like in-hand images. I still feel slightly bummed by ToyWorld's choice of size for their figures. Hegemon made sense, but the Throttlebot and Hardhead homages make my head hurt a little.

Hmm.... Not too thrilled.
:-?
Not going to cancel pre-order, but still not thrilled.

Aurora looks glorious and Grindrod is awesome!

Perhaps your dismisal of Aurora (Searchlight) stems from the slight downsizing of the recent FansProject output?

If FansProject are trying to be subtle and scale their figures down ever so slightly (which saves on costs, of course) then ToyWorlds output should be applauded for their sizing, quality and darn right awesomeness considering their pricing compared? ;)

I suspect much of FP's resizing are to keep things in scale with their Superion and Bruticus offerings, alone with MT's Devastator.

I don't get it. What's the problem? :???: It's big, beautiful, well-articulated... Nothing I can see that's wrong.

ToyWorld have got the sizes for the Throttlebots and Hardhead spot on! Its the badly undersized FP Stunticon that looks out of place, shame about them really...

Can't imagine who would want a deluxe sized figure to go in a Classics collection.

I'm cool that they're deluxe class figures, but as we've discovered from Hasbro there are different sizes of deluxe class figures, and given the Throttlebots could originally fit in your pocket I simply feel ToyWorld's are unusual for being at the bigger end of the deluxe sizes.

While I would've liked FansProject's Stunitcons to be bigger (yeah, I know, "These are too big. They are too small." :BANG_HEAD:), FP haven't downsized them in comparison to the rest of the Causality line.

Maybe the size of ToyWorld's figures are due in part to the engineering required (which, by the way, I love), but they just strike me as large. It wasn't a conscious decision on my part, it's the way it is.

I've ordered GrindRod, got Aurora on pre-order, and fully intend to get the rest. However, this is my opinion and I'm going to voice it. ;)

Have you seen the comparison pics to Classics Bumblebee? Aurora fits perfectly with that scale.

Just sayin'... :D

I'm just messing with you Sodan you are, of course, entitled to your opinion and to share it :)

But really, Grindrod at least, is a small-ish deluxe from a height standpoint, but with some nice weight to him. I'm not looking at him as I type this, so I'm going from memory, but he stands about the same height as TFP Wheeljack or, like Agamamnon said, Classics Bee. Neither is an overly tall Deluxe.

I actually thought the height worked out quite well, because I also tend to thing of these characters as "shorter" than many other G1 characters.

Glad you have them on preorder, I think you will be pleased when you have them in hand. I can't wait to see the next in this series.

Yessir! And those of us who didn't bite on Grindrod initially, he ships too. :D

Can't wait to have these on Friday. Looks like I'm going to work hard to get the end of the quarter homework done before the Friday due date.

I had to return my defective Grind Rod last month. BBTS was nice enough to adjust my pre-order back to what it initally cost from the first run. So all 3 showed up in my POL today and hit my credit card hard. So arent we a little bit overdue for a test shot of TW-T03 ? I hope it's not Goldbug. Save him for last.

I second that!
I'd really like to see the next installment, but then, my wallet could use the break, so I'm not complaining too hard.

Yes please ... hold of on Goldbug.
I'm pretty happy with the Japanese gold Classics + replacement noggin I have, I'm not looking for him any time soon.

I finally got to look at Aurora and Grindrod. I am impressed with each. I'll be taking some pics in comparison to some other figures and psoting them in the upcoming week. Though I love the figures they are not perfect. For example...

I don't remember seeing this issue in the reviews, but if you want to save yourself some frustration, for the love of life, do not fold in the gun barrel for storage under the car. Sheesh! Between a stiff hinge and nothing to grasp to pull it out, I scratched up part of the gun a little. Nothing major, but still. It should be easier. (There's a similar issue with Hardbone's hands, if you saw those reviews, though I have a solution for that one that I'll hopefully snap some tics of later.)

Still, a great figure!
