Are you using "listing" right?

Listing is a nautical term where the ship is badly weighted and leaning to one side, so he did use it right.

And so, we are supposed to be all versed in Nautical terms now, right?

Rated X wrote:So much wasted plastic used to make those huge gorillia arms. They could have used it instead to make the legs a little longer and more bulky. Even FOC fans didnt want a freakin baboon I bet.

I, as a fan of FoC, wanted a 100% accurate representation of the character in toy form. That's what they've created.

Now after seeing the latest pics with the more muted colors, I've preordered him. Hopefully it will indeed ship by the end of January as they've projected.

Apparently over on Robot Kingdoms facebook page, Project Genesis people have listened to fans and they are going to ease up on the intense clours, back to something a little more 'game' like?

:-?

Planet X wrote:Planet X Genesis updated.

Was informed that their colored test type picture is a little too bright due to the flash when photo, and they also will intend to tune down a little bit on red & yellow closer to its original design instead of G1 color !

Hope we will see the final product color soon :)

Not my fault you don't keep up with vocabulary the same way you do with TFs :P

 It's okay to use Nautical Terms if it's referring to Nautical stuff... Used on a Toy Robot though...

Hence, the question about using the right term...

And this is supposed to be an international forum... >:oP

There are oceans all over the world and when boats take on water, they generally list to one side or another.

That being said and back on topic, this thing looks like it will have problems with arm weight. I can't imagine this elbow and shoulder joints will last too long.

That's funny coming from you.

You're a great asset to the site yet you've spent a lot of time lately nitpicking people's grammar, usage, and accuracy.

At least wait until the new year to quarrel! ;)

If it wasnt for Daimchoc on these boards, there would be a huge gap in the latest Transformers info, especially 3rd Party stuff.

No Daimchoc means bringing Blurrz and El Duque out of retirement!

I see Daimchoc as an asset to any fansites forums, like a work colleague who wants the best out of everyone but hasnt been promoted to Supervisor yet! ;)

Back on topic:

I havent even played War for Cybertron let alone own a copy of Fall of Cybertron, so I guess any version of this hulk that makes it to fandom will be a bonus?

To get this topic back on track - are others concerned that the weight of the arms are going to be impede on the ability to keep the figure balanced or posed? Limit motion? Or keep it from listing (or to please others here - leaning?) :D

Nope, I'm not concerned with that at all. I think they were either just showing off all the dynamic waist/leg articulation in the latest pics or (more likely) they were just in a hurry when posing it for the pics since they got all those complaints (like my own) about the previous color scheme. I don't think the arms are that heavy, especially not the canon/non-claw arm since it's mostly just a hollow plate. It looks to have ratchet joints which I'm sure support the weight just fine. They don't need to be thick to support the large arms, the ratchets themselves just need to be tight enough, that's all.

As per RK's FB page:

Planet X just informed us that Genesis will release on time, should arrive the week of 21Jan2013! And we should have their latest final color pictures soon :)

Can't wait to see the pics. That's going to be the deciding factor on whether or not I pic this up (assuming I can afford it :P).

As per RK's facebook page:

Here we received a good news from Planet X!
Rather than a preorder gift, the Tech-Light component will come with all orders! Looking forward to more updated pictures of the new prototype!

Translation: Since people are cancelling their preorders we've decided to include the Tech-Light component to lure people back into the product for all orders.

Forgive me for nitpicking, but anyone cancelling their preorders would have already been entitled to the Tech-Lights, so they're unlikely to be lured back in by the prospect of everyone getting them.

I wonder if this means they've got less preorders than they have the incentive lights, and so they're running with a surplus. If anything this news is going to lead to more preorders being cancelled. Without a preorder incentive I'd imagine folk are going to be more relaxed about waiting to see the final product.

EDIT: While we're on the subject, usually there is at least 50% of people's comments on these threads that share strong desires to pick up a figure, whether official or third party.

Just out of interest, could I have a show of hands please from anyone who has already put down the money for Genesis or is steadfast resolute that they will?

@Sodan-1: Yeah, I suppose you're right. To be honest, I hadn't been following up on the special offers for this guy so I guess I got my facts crossed. I just find it funny that they pulled a Dr. Farnsworth with the 'GOOD NEWS EVERYONE!! WE'RE BACKPEDDLING AND ALTERING SOMETHING TO INCREASE INTEREST!!" - tactic

Guess I should have kept my nose out of it, but I couldn't help but comment this time.
