Or maybe, you know, it'll be based on WFC Omega Supreme's face, since it's supposed to be based on that design from the very beginning.

The long arms look very good and accurate to the game design, just deal with it. Maybe you should stop bringing G1 where it doesn't belong, I mean, just because it started it all doesn't mean you can't change things.

Game accurate or not, the long arms just flat out look dumb. So does Vortex's new colors. Sure some things from G1 can be changed. But just because someone jumps off a cliff doesnt mean I have to follow them. For me that cliff is taking WFC/FOC seriously.

I'm actually a teeny bit curious as to what else is in this expansion kit besides a face.

Dude, seriously, you've got to get in on the new MP line. Classics, WfC, FoC and even third party stuff just doesn't touch it no matter how much they try. There is nothing better than the new MPs to scratch that G1 itch. Hopefully Takara will get around to doing combiners and cityformers and such in the MP line someday (once they've gotten through the rather sizeable season 1 cast of non-combining/non-city bots and cons).

Dude....your complaint boils down to "I don't like it so nobody else can like it." There's nothing wrong with you not liking it, but lots of other people do, and they've got as much right to appreciate this figure for how it is as you do to want something different.

I like everything except the arms and Im open about it. If you like the arms, more power to you. But dont expect me to just stay quiet because some people love it. Maybe my "monkey arms" arguement would have been more suited for a WFC concept art thread than this one. But since I dont follow video games, this figure is my first glimpse of this rendition of Omega. And I wanna smack the guy from Activision who drew those huge arms. Probally the same guy who painted Vortex in period blood. Sorry if my opinions offend you, nothing personal I assure you.

I do like all the MP stuff for it's G1 cartoon accuracy. I got Grimlock and 4 seekers. Im just not a fan of the large size. I see the MP line hitting a roadblock with combiners because of the scale. Once you get past season 1, the G1 cartoon continuity becomes too big to realistically expect a full line up. It will then turn into a fan favorites line. I must say Im excited to see how they do MP Acid Storm. I really hope it's neon green and not some army camo deco. Ill buy it on the spot.

I'm not offended, but every single post you've made in this topic has been "It's not G1 enough. It's not G1 enough. It's not G1 enough."
  • It's not a G1 figure.
  • It's got plenty of market for looking exactly the way it does
  • Nobody else hates the proportions
  • G1 fans aren't the only ones with deep pockets (and most G1 fans aren't G1 only, so they're more open to this being a Not-G1 figure than you)
You don't have to like it. But generally when someone doesn't like something and other people do, they don't stick around complaining about how they don't like it when other people are just trying to discuss its positive attributes. We all get that you don't like the arms. You don't have to repeat it every week. If there comes an upgrade set with smaller arms to make this figure more G1-esque, then you're welcome to talk about that. But right now you just sound like a broken record, and you're derailing the conversation.

That's not entirely true. X just tends to be more ... vocal ... than others. :)

I also find the internal proportions of the bot to be pretty odd.
  • Chest is too wide
  • Arms are too big
  • Legs are too small
  • Head is too small

Taking a look at this custom we see the same WFC design, but more traditional (read human) proportions:
Image

The custom still has the aesthetics of wide chest, small head and longer arms, but it seems to work better in the custom IMO.

For me, like X, the worst offenders in Genesis are the arms, if that could be modified, I'd be a lot more interested in the project. If the arm/chest/leg/head ratio of Genesis looked like the custom, I may have ordered one already.

An upgrade kit with more proportionate arms would go a long way to selling this to me.
Or, better yet a slight remold where they added geewunny arms and a better scaled noggin, would be great for me. That way I'd only have to buy an expensive figure, not and expensive figure plus an add on.

By and large I've been a passive reader on this thread.
I threw in my 2 cents pretty early on, but I have been keeping up in hopes that maybe someone might make a kit or remold.

I think, all in all, it is a nice figure that fits what they were going for.
It doesn't work for me, but with a few tweaks I suspect it could and would open the figure to a different segment of collectors.

I hope they do that.
$350 is a lot of cash, but it is in line with the combiners out there, and I'd seriously consider getting it.

Yep, you may be right on that point (but I sure hope not, I really wanna see Takara keep it going and do as much as is possible).

Agreed on Acid Storm. That crappy camo Universe version just didn't do him justice. I may or may not get him, I'm undecided at this point, but I did skip Sunstorm (still waiting for an MP-11 based Skywarp too).

Anyway, back on point, I see what the complaints are about with Genesis, but the proportions just don't bother me I guess. I saw him in the game and liked him a lot, I saw how they did the figure here 100% accurate to the game so I bought it and I couldn't be happier. He looms above my WfC Megatron and looks awesome. I'm just waiting for the LEDs to get here from RK (they didn't ship them to me when I bought the figure, I emailed them about it and they've now sent them to me so any day now (hopefully) I'll be getting them).

As for the addon set, I'll probably get it because it would be nice for him to have his face. I've no idea what the other parts are going to be so I guess we'll just have to wait and see.

G1 and G1 homages: Almost 30 years

WFC/FOC Saga: 2 years

Classics line (counting funpub, KO, and 3rd party offerings): lost count but pushing 200

WFC/FOC figures in those 2 years: 35 (counting Genesis and all the crappy legends cassettes)

WFC/FOC figures announced for 2013/2014: 1 (Thundercracker)

You do the math...

And remember Metroplex is gonna be G1 style too ;)

I'm sort of sick and tired of this G1/WFC theme going on here in this thread, it is rather an eyesore and is void of the actual topic hand. This is a pretty nice toy and it would be cool if we could stick to talking about it instead.

amen, im pretty excited to see what these add ons are and hopefully the faceplate has a visor that opens rather than just the face, i know just the face is game accurate but this is one detail for which departing from accuracy would be okay in my book.

I finally got the LEDs for this guy in the mail from RK and WOW do they ever make a difference. It's really neat when you install them in his chest, arms and legs. He looks like he's alive.

This figure has yet to cease impressing me and was well worth the cost IMO.

Hello Everyone,

Thank you for the nice photos. We are still receiving photos every day.
The faceplate tank is already under construction. But it takes a much longer time for the development of the upgrade kit.
So the winner of the campaign will be the first 20 people in the world to receive the faceplate tank!

Enjoy!

Yep, just turn the little bit on the top of the chest that looks like an Autobot symbol belongs there (because it does ;)) so that it's upside down and then pull out on the chest panel itself (not the piece you rotated) and it should pop right out. Might take a bit of force, but it's not too bad.

That's where I bought mine. The only issue I had was that they did not include the LED's, but I emailed them about it and they sent them to me, so no hassle and good customer service.
