You're right, that is good timing for the Takara release of Magnus. This is also about a year apart from the last release of both of these molds.

For those who have been waiting (and waiting...) to pick these add-ons up, they are wonderful kits and I had so much fun transformer City Commander over and over, being amazed at the engineering. The ONLY downside to it all is that BFG. Please don't kill your Magnus' elbow joint by posing with the BFG standing up unless you've got something to support the weight.

It's a very fun kit, with each part acting as proper armor as opposed to the cab being plugged into the trailer or just standing behind it or something. The perfect Effect add ons also add lot to it.

The downside is that it turns a very posable, articulated robot into a brick. But if you can get past that it's a great addition to any collection. It's probably the best Classics Magnus we'll ever get.

Where were these things when people wanted them ??? I think I paid $120 from Robotkingdom for one of the last originals in stock, then I went the KO route for Shadow and DIA. A little too late but good for a new wave of Ultra Magnuses and Red Window Nemesis Primes out there now.

Yep, they've been in demand for some time now. For weeks now (months maybe) BBTS has had City Commander and DIA Commander instock, at least if I recall correctly. Now of course they don't and they only have the new preorders up. I thought they just had a new shipment/preorders up for DIA Commander a few days ago though and now it's not even listed, not even as being sold out. That's weird for sure. Maybe they thought they were getting it but it turned out to be these two instead so they swapped the listings?

Too expensive for trailer parts that turn Optimus into a brick. Still can't believe I bought Battle Tanker for RTS Optimus. Never. Doing. That. Again. For those who enjoy these things, I'm happy you felt you've got your money's worth. As for me, I will never again waste $100 on 3rd party parts that clip on to official Hasbro molds.

I bought the Battle Tanker as well, and while the "exo suit" wasn't as cool as I'd hoped it would be; the legs, arms, waist, head and backpack all turn a decent but lacking figure into something really cool. Not $100 cool, but verrah nice all the same.

I've liked the look of FP's armore for quite some time. I have a UM/Skywarp boxset. I think it will be finally time to open it.

Love the Battle Tanker and City Commander kits. And even the Samurai Prowl armor too. Armorbots are definitely for me.

Same here. The Battle Tanker set really kicks ass,as well ass City commander. I'm gonna try to get the Shadow Commander ASAP.

Also, just saw on BBTS that preorders are back up for Defender, Munitioner, and Explorer.....

What kind of crack is Fansproject/BBTS smoking ??? They just doubled the price of Munitioner/Explorer to e-bay prices. I paid $49.. each from BBTS when they first came out. I wanted another set to mix and match colors with the other versions of the Hasbro sets, but not at these prices. Im about to cancel my pre-order for the Asia exclusives Bruticus.

Can somebody confirm if these are the new darker repaints selling at $99 ??? Or are these the original colors as in re-stock ???

I missed out last time so I'm actually pretty pumped to get them this time around and keeping my preorder.

It does feel that they are taking the piss a little bit with their pricing though. But at the end of the day, its a price I'm willing to pay for a great set.

I would venture a guess that it's the new decos only because I haven't heard anything about FP planning to do another run of the original versions, but BBTS is using the same old pics and info they did for the originals (for now at least). Of course, their info/pics of CC are outdated too, so that doesn't say much (they actually just show a black sillouette of the gun instead of the gun that we've now all already seen many many times).

Either way, new deco or not (especially for my purposes, since I just want them for the combiner kibble ), I'm not sure if it's worth $200. That's what I paid for my first set on ebay and that wasn't that long ago, maybe 6~8 months.

Either FP is really jacking up their prices, or BBTS is gouging. Then again, BBTS has been estimating prices high lately then lowering them once they get word from the manufacturers/suppliers about final cost, so maybe that's the case this time. I sure hope so, because shelling out $300 (like I said, I need Munitioner's combiner kibble 2x over) is a lot of money. Oh well, at least I didn't drop over $300 to get all the TFCC Nexus Maximus exclusives to build this new custom combiner like I did the last one. That one really hurt, but I did it slow over the course of nearly a year, so it wasn't as bad as this.

Im an impulse bargin buyer so this was an instant turn off for me. If this was an asian exclusive, I might believe the price would drop, but I think the Fansproject prices are pretty straight foward. The price for a new Fansproject scout from retail has always been fifty bucks. That includes the new insecticon repaints if you break up the set. This is Fansproject being greedy and biting the hand that feeds them.

No, they were about $50/ea. when they first came out (Feb/Mar 2011). I'm not too sure about the pre-order price here, although I'm sure e-Bay is probably just as expensive. What I'm really concerned about is that the pre-order is for the original paint scheme and not the new color schemes that we've heard about recently (more G1-inspired).

Good to see these rereleased. I never regretted buying any of these.

I recall that the second run of Munitioner/Explorer cost about $55 each because of a smaller product run. Maybe it's the same here?

All old FP items got a price bump. I think the shock here is that these were bumped by 50%.

I also think it's fair to bump these up by that much, seeing the demand for them ... but I wouldn't pay that much for these with recolors coming just around the corner.

Those re-colors better be the same damn price, they already got the money out of the mold, the second batches of the original colors are selling at double the price.

If these new repaints come out for more then 60, I'm calling BS on FansProject being about the "Fans".

Pretty sure BBTS sets the price, not FP. Although it may cost a bit more to have a limited run, even with old molds ... can't speak to that for certain.
