I don't really know. It was on Robotkingdom some time ago, now it's out of stock.

if this one is plastic I'll be more interested than I was with the admittedly awesome looking Matrix/Prima sword. Plus points if it stays in one piece for more than 10minutes, unlike the "real" one.

Dr. Wu stuff is better purchased at Chimungmung.com or Acestoystore.com...

I like it and therefore will probably get it. This one does however kind of make the DW-TP06 as a bit of a balls-up on Dr. Wu's part. Oh well, this frees that one up for my Classics figures.
I'm kind of hoping Dr. Wu will soon get back to making the not so flashy weapons needed for the PRIME figures like dual blasters for Wheeljack, Bulkhead and Starscream.

This looks great, another fine looking weapon from the good Doctor.
Do we know if that hilt is cast in metal with the blade that looks to be translucent plastic?

Hmmm, think I'd prefer it being cast in clear plastic, with the hilt painted....
But I can also see it cast in that vac-anodised solid stuff that the other swords are done with;
It's still a toss up whether this will be the one to go for, or the Shapeways version due soon...

It looks good and I'll definitely pick it up, but I'm not all that excited for it for some reason.

After the initial excitement wore off, I kind of feel like the hilt of the sword should have been reversed...

funny, that's the first thing i noticed when i saw pictures of this thing. the handguard should be on the other side, where the biggest part of the blade is
my apologies for digging out this old thread, but i have a question related to this item: does this sword work properly with the regular RiD version of optimus, and is it possible to mount it on his back?

Haha! I had to run the video back to double check your plug for AcesToyStore. Very smooth.

Got yourself a job in BBTS marketing department, have you?
Cheers for another quality review. I have to admit, when I saw the length of it I questioned whether it was necessary, but bugger me I think it was. I've got the silver and blue versions on pre-order because I had the same idea as you, but was eager to see exactly what we'd be getting and if they were worth it. I do agree the price is a bit suspect, but annoyingly I'm willing to pay it.
Oh, and thanks for making me now want to get the green version as well.

As others have said, i have blue and grey on preorder, I like the idea of having an idle version of the sword, or stuck in stone version.
It would be sweet if replicas could be made of each of the relics (save the Apex armor [deployed]) in both modes. i really want a forge for smokescreen to drag around.

Hey guys,
I just received my skybreaker sword in the mail and couldn't resist recreating a scene from the Transformers Prime episode "Legacy" with my figures.
Check it out here -

Purple, grey and blue are all in my TFSource stack now. Waiting on Springer and Blitzwing (or Hexatron, whichever comes first) to ship them.
When the show accurate Dark Star Saber images came out I considered dropping the purple one, but I'm not likely to use either of these with their intended partners. Thundertron might well be getting the blue one, and TFP Megs has the Dark Matter Calibur, which is enough sword for any bot.
Sort of sad the red blade/blue hilt combo wasn't a mass release, but I'm not shelling out more for another version of the thing, no matter how sexy it looks. Very glad to see in the reviews that these are all plastic as well. Metal swords + normal figures' arm joints does not = a good combo, methinks.
