It's too early to really comment on this set or MasterMind's sets, but as it stands I'm not that thrilled by UniqueToys'. The design is very slim and not particularly threatening. Not for the Predacons anyway.

Very true, but it also comes down to size. I'm confident everyone will want their Predaking to be the biggest gestalt on their Classics shelf.

And that re-opens an old can of worms depending on what gestalts you have...

MMC's is about the size of TFC's Hercules...

That's what I've been told as well.

That's something, I'll keep my fingers crossed that he is a little bigger.

I had the opportunity to interview Unique Toys a couple of days ago and ask them some questions regarding the group as well as their upcoming War Lord Beasticon (the 3rd party Predaking) figure.

I've had the green light to publish the interview now which can be found here if you are interested.

Think of the interview as 20 questions, I've left their replies unaltered so that readers can interpret some of their answers for themselves.

That's a real cool interview. And the different size means he's a real option for some collectors.

The interview was nice. I can respect wanting to stand on your own feet, but it'd have helped them to know who they're connected with.

Good interview, but I lost interest after they mentioned the approximate size of Predaking. If he really is that small then this is an easy pass, the Preds need to be big and menacing.

That's because this is more geared towards FP's Colossus and Menasor, as well as MT's Giant. MMC's is in scale with TFC's Herc and Uranos.

Kinda got that from the interview, which is why I'll be keeping an eye on that one :P It's good that both size groups will (hopefully) get versions of Predaking, just gotta hope the one aimed at what you already have is the one you like best

I have Hercules and I don't want Predaking to be shorter than him. I will wait for MMC's bots. This allows me to save up for the non stunticons which are a higher priority to me.

Folks mentioned that WarLord is based on the custom.. If it does match the size of the custom, then we'll have the below.

Those preview images ... mean nothing to me. I think they show even less than the other Predaking previews.

That is a nice size, just not liking the gun/shoulder thing it has going on. Otherwise it looks rather good.

The one thing that could really matter here is price... I agree that MMC is looking pretty dern sweet.

How does MMC win when you can't see any details on a shadowed figure silhouette?

...just sayin.

MMC is the bottom picture, the one with the test figure.

That's my point thought, we can't see any details on Unique Toys version of the character on the top. Granted the MMC figure is impressive, but how can you compare two figures when you can only see one figure prototype clearly?
